What is the meaning of prayer to you?
Prayer is the communication between a man and God. It can also be seen as an act of exercising dominance causing influence and making transformation. This means that prayer merges the spiritual realm and the natural commanding realities into manifestation.

Do you think it's necessary to pray, and how many times should one pray?
Prayer is not optional but a necessity. Luke 18:1 says "And he speaks a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray and not to faint". Jesus Christ in this passage understood the significance of prayer and he saw it needful for his disciples to know and to understand as well. This means that man has been endowed with the authority to exercise dominance in the natural and spiritual realms. Therefore, a Christian who doesn't pray is an empty, disconnected and easy-to-be-distracted believer. Prayer can be said to give life oxygen to every believer and so, it is a necessity.
There is no limit as to the number of times we need to pray in a day. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 says "Pray continually" and another version says "Pray in season and out of season" This means pray all the time.

Are there some supernatural things prayers can do?
As I have said earlier, prayer merges the spiritual realm and the natural commanding reality into manifestation. The answer to this question is yes. There are several supernatural things that prayer can do.

  • Prayers can undo evil (satanic) acts in the spiritual realm. The Bible says in Ephesians 6:12 "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms".
  • Prayers can bring healing. James 5:14a says "And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well. In the Bible, James and John healed a crippled man at the beautiful gate through prayers and I am also a testimony of healing through prayers.
  • Prayers can raise the dead. Jesus instructed in the book of Mathew 10:8 "Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. This we have seen happen as Peter raised Dorcas from the dead (Acts 9:40-42).

Do you believe that unanswered prayer is caused by sin? If yes prove your answers, If otherwise back your answers up.

Sin is one of the reasons why our prayers are unanswered. Proverb 28:9 says the prayer of a sinner is an abomination(detestable) to God. This means that if we regard Iniquity in our heart, our request cannot be granted except if it is a prayer of confession as found in 1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins".
Other reasons that make our prayer unanswered are:

  • Wrong motive: If we request anything through prayers with wrong reasons or wrong motivation, even if what we requested is good for our lives God will not grant it (James 4:3).
  • Requesting what is not the will of God. The will of God for our lives is perfect. Therefore, we must learn from Jesus' prayer as found in Luke 22:42.

Conclusion
Prayer is not optional but a necessity for every believer to help us maintain a union with our God and to present our challenges/requests to Him. Thank you all for visiting my blog and for your support. I hereby invite my friends to participate in this contest:

Prayer is the solution to most of our problems and is a way of communicating with our maker, and you are right. We can't do that with a sinful body, and sometimes it's not what we requested that we always get God always has his way of answering our request.

Thank you for your comment

Prayer commands the unseen impossibility into reality and must form an integral part of a christian lifestyle.Thank you fellow.

Thank you too

Prayer is a communion with God, there's no limit as to the number of times to pray. Prayer is a necessity and not an option, nice content, detailed and explanatory.
