"Contest : My life without internet connection."

Imagine that moment enjoying some interesting Nollywood movie on Facebook. One thing about Facebook Nollywood is its title. You will see something like: She didn't know the poor girl she maltreated was a millionaire daughter; they hate each other but they're in love; so many funny titles. As you're still watching, boom, your Internet connection disconnects immediately, ending the moment.

Nothing hurts me more than doing something useful, using an Internet connection, but suddenly discovering that your network is unavailable, displaying No Service. Being disconnected means you can no longer browse or do anything online.

Several times, just recently, a particular network provider, known as MTN in Nigeria, disconnected people's lines, and they are unable to use their SIM cards for calls or browsing. It didn't end well because, out of frustration, people stormed the MTN office with a lot of complaints. In trying to find out why their line was disconnected, it was clear that most of them didn't link it to their national identification number (NIN) as directed by the federal government.

Secondly, since the beginning of the ongoing protest, there has been poor network connection. Sometimes, I had to manually change from 3g to 2g to browse. The screenshot above was taken today at about midnight while still watching an online class on YouTube. It disconnected immediately, and out of annoyance, I cleared the app immediately. It changes my mood whenever there's no network on my phone.

There's a time that I am locked out from the Internet, with no service, no calls, no browsing. What I do is turn on my flight. While checking for a game I haven't been playing for a long time on my phone. My day without the Internet will be boring. In this country, with a hard economy, one may feel frustrated at any point in time, and one way of dealing with it is by doing something you enjoy.

As soon as you have data to browse the Internet, you will get yourself and enjoy your moment. If I am unable to connect to the Internet, I prefer playing games on my phone just to keep me busy.

The necessity of the Internet in my life is that I use the Internet to communicate with people either through email, Messenger video conference, or video chat. I communicate with my friends and family members far away.

Through the Internet, I have come to learn about what is happening within and outside my environment. People share life hacks, life experiences, and entertainment through websites, blogs, and social media and can only access them on the Internet.

Imagine when your favorite artist drops a new hit song, and you aren't able to stream. With the Internet, I can be able to stream and download songs, videos, games, and different kinds of comedy to my phone.

I also need interest to learn; as humans, we keep learning new things every day: new words, languages, and cultures. You may not be able to carry a dictionary everywhere you go, but with the Internet, you can search and find answers to any difficulty in words. That's impressive.

We have different types of banking now: online banking and offline; online work in a physical office, but online banking works with the use of the Internet. Come to think of it, it's clear that the majority of people prefer online banking because it's fast and easy to access. For example, the popular online banking, Palmpay and Opay, are some of the most used and reliable online banking because they are easy to access and have fast transactions.

When shopping, most of the time, I prefer online shopping because it's mostly affordable. You get to know another user who has used the products and their experience. All this can be achieved with the use of the Internet.

Many people rely on the Internet, making money on their blogs, creating content, trading, making skits, or making social media their full-time job. Imagine how they would feel if they had no Internet to access it. Do you think I would be able to post on Steemit without the Internet?
