Greetings Everyone
Sorry it's coming late, I am here today to do my TFC tutorial for this period which talks about NFTs. Particularly the largest NFT market place Opensea.io. Without wasting any more time, let's look at what this post has in store for us. I trust you won't be decided so kick back and enjoy the post.

Brief Introduction of the Marketplace

Opensea.io has to be the most popular and top market place when it comes to anything involving Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs). People who make use of the decentralized application can either buy NFTs or Mint theirs and sell it on the dApp. As a market place built on the Ethereum Blockchain, listing an NFT on the marketplace (opensea) requires the user to pay an amount of gas fees in ETH for the listing to happen but some users have taken advantage of the polygon network on the market place which allows users to list their NFTs with zero fees that is completely free.

As NFTs grew in popularity and became the talk of the town, the marketplace grew in popularity and became the first stop of most whales who are interested in buying NFTs and who wouldn't want to list their NFTs where all the whales could see and possibly buy it so their users are ever growing.

Q1. Read the first tutorial and review this marketplace with your own thoughts

This is the home page of the Opensea. From the first picture, there is search icon where you can check from the particular kind of NFT you are looking for together with a search and or create icon where you can explore from numerous NFTs around especially the trending one. The create option is for those who want to list their own NFTs on the site although you have to start from linking your wallet to the app.

If you decide to start scrolling down, you would come across some notable NFTs before the top NFT collections in the past 24 hours. The collections show a large collection of NFTs classified by the users accounts. The options button at the top right edge of the screenshot is used to explore, toggle night mode, check recent Activities and ranking of all the NFT collections at the moment and makes some resources available to you like help center, newsletter, the gas free marketplace and so on.

The explore option makes everything much simpler and easier as all the NFT classifications are made available and you can simply choose one category eg music and every NFT related to music would be made available to you.

The help center shows you any basic thing you need to know about how to carry out activities on the dApp as well as their partners, the gas free marketplace (polygon) with their newsletter, blog and others.

For my review, I'd say the marketplace is a great place. I now know why they are the top. It has a very user friendly interface with tutorial in the help center and everything including the processes are simplified. It does have glitches or bugs like the other applications I have encountered. It even offers one an opportunity to list their NFTs without gas fees what could be better than that. Anyone who wants to start their NFT journey, I would advise them to start with this market place.

Q2. How to create an account in this marketplace

For this tutorial I would be doing the wallet creation using my meta mask wallet app so if you want to create yours using my tutorial, endeavor to have a functional metamask account and app

You start by entering the meta mask wallet and clicking on the options icon at the top left side of the homepage.

You would be given an array of options to choose from so you click on browser which is the first option on the list.

You would be taken straight to the Opensea home page which you are to click on the options Icon as earlier indicated in this post. Under the night mode option, you would see a button asking you to connect your wallet, all you have to do right now is to click on it.

An array of wallets for you to link it to would be given to you Select metamask. A pop up asking you to confirm the wallet connection would come up then you connect to confirm, finalize and connect the wallet. Once connected, it would look like the third picture above. Once you see that then you have successfully created an account on Opensea

Q3. Indicate how to setup your account as a professional.

You start by going back to the open seas home page. Click on the options icon and select account. Once you click on account, another set of options would pop up concerning your account. At this point click on profile

It would take you to your profile where you incomplete profile would be displayed. Click on the settings icon next to the share icon. It would take you to your profile settings. At this point you fill in the spaces like username, bio, you can also link your Twitter account to it and put your cover photo and profile photo then save the settings. After all this, go back to your profile as all the changes would have been effected by then as seen in my example above.

Q4. Mint your own NFT and write a short blog about it

As I mentioned earlier, users who have an account on the application can mint and list their own NFTs on the dApp. On a normal situation, one would need to pay a large amount of eth as gas fees but the dApp has made a way where people can mint and sell their NFTs with 0 gas fees which is through the polygon network. Currently there are 4 blockchains where one can list their NFTs on opensea which is Ethereum, polygon, Solana (new) and klaytn

On the home page of the Opensea marketplace, click on the create button.

You would be taken to another page where you put in the picture, name of the NFT, description, category as well as the supply and blockchain it would be minted on (polygon). Then you scroll to the bottom and click on create.

Q5. List your own NFT and write a short blog about it.

20220513_122331_0000.png

You go to your profile and you would see the picture you want to list. Click on it and you would see two options edit or sell it. Click on sell and you would be asked to sign it so it can be confirmed. You click on sign and immediately, your NFT is listed. It's a very easy straight forward process.

There is a little complicated method when it comes to changing the network. If you noticed from the at the beginning of the post it was set to Ethereum mainnet but now it appeared in the polygon mainnet. So all you need to do is to go to your profile on metamask and change it from Ethereum mainnet to polygon mainnet.

Conclusion

The NFT market is a steadily booming market and many more users are pulled in day by day both those that mint and those that buy. If you go to discord and twitter, you would come across alot of NFT HODLers so it's necessary that we get family with one of the most popular market places so that our NFT journey can be easier than the average newcomer. I learnt alot from this tutorial and I hope we all did.

Thank you for reading. I hope you have participated in the tutorial too

You've written a well detailed article on Opensea, I love the way you've applied the markdown styles and position the images.

Opensea is the largest Nft marketplace, and the name of your Nft sounds funny "Online Hustle"

You might consider listing it, who knows they might be a big bid for it 😀

Online hustle a.k.a Yahoo. I listed it tho for a floor price of 0.15 eth. I just hope someone would actually buy it man. I have plans for the money tho

This is well explained and I like the way you shared the pictures it brilliant. Good job

Too much pictures especially when each of them are different in size makes posts less attractive so I try to maximize throughput and markdown efficiency to increase post attractivity. Thanks for the compliment brosev

Great job dear. You explained really well about all the process.
