Today was quite a busy but meaningful day. I was tasked with providing internship briefing to grade XII students at school. As the homeroom teacher for grade XII TKJ, I felt responsible for ensuring that they were ready to face the world of work and industry.
Early in the morning, I had prepared presentation materials. I started by introducing the importance of a professional attitude, responsibility, and work ethics during internship. Some students looked enthusiastic, while some looked nervous. I tried to lighten the mood by sharing my personal experiences when I was doing internship.
After that, I explained technical matters, such as how to make a report, maintain communication with the supervisor at the internship location, and how to deal with problems that might arise. The question and answer session was quite exciting. Some asked about how to deal with a difficult boss, while others were curious about job opportunities after internship.
At the end of the session, I gave them motivation. “Remember, internship is not only to fulfill school obligations, but also an opportunity to learn and build valuable experiences. You are the generation that will build the future. Don't be afraid to try new things!”
Today, I feel proud to be a teacher.
After finishing teaching and providing internship briefing at school, I went home with a sense of relief. However, my body felt a little tired after standing and talking in front of students all day. That afternoon, I decided to refresh my mind by drinking coffee with my friends at my favorite coffee shop.
As usual, the atmosphere at the coffee shop felt warm and friendly. Our table was full of light chats, from work stories to unfulfilled vacation plans. One of my friends even joked about his funny experience when he was doing internship, making us all laugh out loud.
A cup of warm black coffee in my hand was the perfect complement. The bitter taste felt soothing after a long day. This casual chat made me realize how important it is to take the time to enjoy simple moments with my friends.
As dusk approached, we started to go home. The afternoon sky looked beautiful with a golden orange color, as if ending the day with a peaceful atmosphere. I went home with a light heart, ready for tomorrow which might be busier.
Today, I feel grateful. Not only because I can share knowledge with students, but also because I have friends who are always ready to accompany me at every step of my life journey.
