Dear friends, admins and all moderators of the community. Monday evening some time ago before the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan 1446 Hijriah, around 21.00 West Indonesia Time. We consist of community leaders and also all the people from 5 villages in our mosque. Hold a meeting to elect the mosque imam, which will take place in our village mosque, for the period of service from the middle of this year until next. Because the mosque imam currently in office will have his Decree expire in July 2025.
At last night's election event the committee also invited the resident imam in our settlement, where he also asked for welcoming words regarding this matter. The election event that took place last night was very fair and open. When the event is about to start, of course the party or organizing committee will first explain several things related to tonight's agenda.
Furthermore, the opportunity was given to the mosque imam who is currently in office, to say a few words. Next, the two prospective mosque imams were invited to say a few words before the election was held.
Regarding the election, only 7 village figures were represented. Our mosque is under the auspices of 5 villages. So in essence, only 35 representatives will vote for the prospective mosque imam for the coming period.
The committee has also prepared pieces of paper for each village, where each ballot paper is handed over to the village head, and the village head distributes it to the seven representatives who will vote.
After the election process ended, heavy rain poured down on our rural area. The vote counting process was carried out in the midst of heavy rain.
Of course, of the two candidates, only one candidate received the most votes and was officially appointed as the imam of our mosque, for the next period of service.
Furthermore, the selected mosque imam was also asked for a few words by the committee. After the selected mosque imam delivered a brief piece of advice, which ended with a joint prayer, the event for selecting the mosque imam ended and was closed again by the committee with greetings.
