This long awaited event, the ability to earn Tron on Steemit for blogging, has finally come to pass. I have previously written articles about the developer activity in the Steemit Github repository regarding adding Tron to the Steemit.com Steem Wallet.I am very happy to report the the project is finally done and we can now earn Tron for our Posts, just like we earn Steem. The devil is in the details, of course.

Yes you can earn Tron, BUT only for #Steempower, so to maximi=ze your Tron earned you need to adjust your settings to earn 100% of your rewards in Steempower. For those of you earning mainly through curation, this is transparent, as you get 100% of your rewards in Steempower anyway.
Double Upvotes and Double Tron Rewards!
This development is specifically tailored to reward and encourage those who choose to take their Author rewards in 100% Steempower. So now in addition to extra upvotes for adjusting the settings on your post to 100% Powerup, you also get twice the Tron rewards for doing that also.
Reward, Retention and Recruitment
The strategy of Steemit Inc., thus far has been to provide generous #rewards to posters through a network of country representatives and contests. It has resulted in timproved #retention through the widespread distribution of stake to newcomers for daily blogging and participation in contests, of which there are many. I suspect that this has also helped #recruitment because of word of mouth about the Rewards and Rewards to country representatives for recruitment and reporting on recruitment and networking activities. I am very curious what the current statistics are for earning for newcomers, but it is my impression from #curating and #upvoting about #29,000 posts and comments in my four years here that there are many newcomers and many are earning nice post rewards.
Networking and Engagement
This is an area which I think is improving, based on my personal experience of more comments on my posts. But we must all continue to improve in this area, by reaching out to comment on the posts of others and keep the engagement going. Steemit Inc., cam only do so much, the community must also work hard at engagement, and fortunately this work is paid work, in Steem.
