Little trip to Volterra

Do you remember the movie twilight? Well it has been registered in some parts on the magical Volterra a town situated in the middle of Tuscany not far from Firenze and Pisa. Volterra have Etruscan and Roman origins and a long log history. It was also part of the Medici family and during the middle ages was often in war with Florence.

Volterra maintain the medieval look. But have an important Etruscan archeology site as you can see from the photo above. Here many tourists come to take photos and see the old city. It was a Roman theater and it's super to see,really big and impressive .

The old walls, Volterra was built like a fortress like most of the old cities in Italy and it's really charming too see, the walls, the little streets everything it's so beautiful

This is the famous Palazzo dei priori, built in the 1200 around, it was decorated with some della Robbia art and have a big tower and a lot of windows. Inside the palace there are some pieces of art

The baptistery typical with the black and white lines in marble.

The trip was nice it was one day trip but really cool, we visited most of the places of Volterra also if we weren't able to visit the major museums because we don't have rent the ticket before.

Volterra it's really a charming town full of history!
