Hi friends
It had been a long time since I had presented any entry from my country
Today I bring you a tour that you will like through its beautiful beaches, its coastal town, its history and its good food.
We are in the Basque Country, Spain
Plentzia
Plencia is a small and interesting coastal town on the Bay of Biscay.
Located 25 kilometers from Bilbao, where you can do marine sports and tourism.
Today we have left the car and arrived by public transport, that makes us not worry about where to park.
The metro from Bilbao takes exactly 43 minutes with a frequency of half an hour.
We arrive and the smell of the sea is breathed and we see the beauty of the place, we are greeted by a bridge that we have to cross white and cable-stayed.
When we pass it we have a dilemma, where to turn, to the right only a short way along the estuary, we discard it, we have come to discover the town, not with the eyes of a person who has always seen it and who hardly knows fixed, but like tourists absorbing every step we take, being a sponge that does not leave a drop of water.
So after having a morning coffee, we go up the narrow streets of a fishing village, the mountains surround us and we have to climb, they are not steep slopes and we have no traffic, we can stop to admire the environment.
The railings that you do not need now but when the rain visits us many times, they do not slip on the floor tiles.
We can appreciate palaces of high society from long ago, mixed with humble fishermen's homes, giving a different atmosphere without fissures of a people that lived in harmony of fishing in the Cantabrian Sea.
At the top of the town is La Ermita del Santo Cristo
The hermitage was rebuilt in 1906
Formerly it was a humilladero, a religious building located outside the walls, where travelers could pray and were located at crossroads.
It does not have much attraction since then it was only a place of passage and of faith
We continue our leisurely walk looking like a balcony in the city makes you think of something romantic with a sunset.
The stately homes shine with their whiteness, small palaces of the bourgeoisie, preserved with charm
We see the arch of Santiago
Wedged between houses and almost goes unnoticed, when it has a lot of history to tell
Its incalculable historical value must be taken into account since it constitutes the only vestige of the walls that surrounded the town of Plentzia (populated around 1236)
Apart from the beautiful image that we have left and it gives us a pass to the square.
We arrive at the square and see the church of Santa María Magdalena
A gothic church with a sailor style, almost unique in its kind, that dominates the square with its beautiful houses with balconies.
We continue wandering around and admiring the old town, its history dates back to the first third of the 13th century (ca. 1236) when a well-planned population arose from a formal point of view, and of a marked commercial nature aimed at the distribution of merchandise through from its port, as in western Europe.
We arrived at the town hall square
Where is a hotel and beautiful views of the estuary
The small and charming fishermen's houses, painted in bright colors.
We already reached the beach area.
The walk through the bay I presented it yesterday for the day of the walk so if you want to appreciate the whole town it is here.

The sandy area is spectacular with fine golden sand, this time we see it at low tide.
You can enjoy the bath with a temperature over 20 degrees and almost always calm waters.
You can also do sports, sail and even have fun with the rubber castles in the sea.
It has internal and external showers, services and of course lifeguards, it is one of our best beaches for the whole family.
In front we also have mountains where we can see the Flysch those geological forms that attract so much attention and that here abound on the cliffs.
The rock layers combine with the sandstone and the sandstone wears away from erosion and water.
This post is ending I have almost shown you everything, but as I mentioned my sky is not blue for long and when we look inside the clouds threaten us, making this landscape something more attractive than a blue sky.
I also have an entry that complements this, not so culturally important.
But if for our palate.
It is from this same day where we also spent it that we ate, an inexpensive and delicious menu of the day.

This is how we have spent the hours in this fishing village, where everything can be done on foot or by bicycle, come with family or friends, and also rest on your own.
