La sera del primo gennaio su Rai 3 ho visto il docu-film su Giorgio Gaber, ho fatto in modo da non avere impegni perche' davvero ci tenevo a vederlo. Diversi miei amici andarono a vedere
Gaber in teatro, io ero piu' giovane e un po' stupido, mi sembrava una cosa da intellettualoidi, avevo altri riferimenti culturali, non a caso il mio cane si chiama Birillo.

L'ho scoperto tardi e mi dispiace davvero, il docu-film e' stato bellissimo, specchio di un epoca che si puo' soltanto rimpiangere.
Diciamo l'epoca di un paio di generazioni prima della mia.
Quando arrivo' il Rock in Italia saltarono fuori Celentano, Gaber, Little Tony, Mina, Jannacci ed altri autentici fenomeni, da piangere se confrontati con la miseria
musicale, e non solo, attuale.

Gaber divenne un personaggio
televisivo ma, nel pieno del successo, un po' come fece Mina, decise di tirarsi fuori per dedicarsi al teatro, o meglio al teatro-
canzone.
Vide con occhi molto benevoli il 68', la voglia di cambiamento di quegli anni, i giovani che speravano in qualcosa di meglio.
Il movimento duro' qualche anno poi qualcosa cambio',
Gaber lo intui' subito', comprese che nelle proteste del 77' (quelle le feci pure io), essere “contro” era diventata una moda e ci scrisse canzoni meravigliose e durissime.

Affronto' la crisi della coppia, dopo l'amore libero degli anni 60 ed inizio anni 70, scrisse IL DILEMMA un autentico capolavoro in cui veniva messo in risalto
come oramai essere fedeli alla propria compagna era quasi diventata una cosa da anticonformisti mentre avrebbe dovuto essere il contrario.

Ho amato meno l'ultimo Gaber, forse la
malattia, forse la moglie deputata di Berlusconi, forse l'eta' che non fa sconti a nessuno.
Trovai decisamente pessima la canzone
dove equiparava destra e sinistra proprio lui che aveva scritto “Qualcuno e' stato Comunista”.
Non ho amato neanche “La mia
generazione ha perso” perche' penso che tante battaglie andavano fatte e se ancora esiste uno stato sociale, o quello che ne resta e' proprio grazie a quelle battaglie ed a quelle lotte.
L'Ultima canzone “Io non mi sento italiano” credo, in questo triste contesto
attuale, di condividerla anche nella parte che recita “ma per fortuna o purtroppo lo sono”.

On the evening of January 1st on Rai 3 I saw the docu-film on Giorgio Gaber, I made sure I didn't have any commitments because I really wanted to see it. Several of my friends went to see
Gaber in the theatre, I was younger and a bit stupid, it seemed like an intellectual thing to me, I had other cultural references, it's no coincidence that my dog is called Birillo.

I discovered it late and I'm really sorry, the docu-film was beautiful, a reflection of an era that one can only regret.
Let's say the era of a couple of generations before mine.
When Rock arrived in Italy, Celentano, Gaber, Little Tony, Mina, Jannacci and other authentic phenomena emerged, to be cried when compared to poverty
musical, and not only, current.

Gaber became a character
television but, in the midst of his success, a bit like Mina did, he decided to pull out to dedicate himself to the theater, or rather to the theater-
song.
He saw 68' with very benevolent eyes, the desire for change of those years, the young people who hoped for something better.
The movement lasted a few years then something changed,
Gaber understood it 'immediately', he understood that in the protests of '77 (I did those too), being "against" had become a trend and he wrote wonderful and very harsh songs about it.

He faced the crisis of the couple, after the free love of the 60s and early 70s, he wrote THE DILEMMA, an authentic masterpiece in which it was highlighted
how now being faithful to your partner had almost become a non-conformist thing when it should have been the opposite.

I loved the last Gaber less, perhaps the
illness, perhaps Berlusconi's deputy wife, perhaps the age that doesn't give discounts to anyone.
I found the song decidedly bad
where he, who had written “Someone was a Communist”, equated left and right.
I didn't even love “Mine
generation has lost” because I think that many battles had to be fought and if a social state still exists, or what remains of it, it is precisely thanks to those battles and those struggles.
The last song "I don't feel Italian" I think, in this sad context
current, to share it also in the part that says "but fortunately or unfortunately I am".
