Hello everyone!

Last night a small misadventure happened in which my son Leonardo was the protagonist, fortunately resolved without any consequence.

Surely you have seen this strange mysterious object from the cover image...well, it has to do with what happened and, if you haven't figured it out yet, I'll reveal what it is shortly. But let's go in order.

We gathered for dinner with our friends, as often happens when we are here on holiday in Acciaroli.
They have a beautiful garden, with a barbecue, large tables, chairs and a corner with an umbrella. In short, there is a lot of space, we are cool and we like to be in their company.

We lit the embers and roasted...they ate the sausages and my wife and I, being vegetarians, ate the provola.

The evening was spent in joy and serenity, with both my children who went wild, each in their own way and created, as often happens, many funny moments.

Before leaving, we had a coffee and at that point Leonardo wanted to make his usual fake coffee...in the sense that he enjoys taking a glass, simulating the coffee coming out of the machine and turning it as if sugar were inside it.

So far no problem...he is a very responsible kid about these things and rarely makes silly or dangerous gestures.

Then when we were all leaving together, our friend Rosaria noticed that Leo was holding the disposable plastic wand that is used to turn the coffee after it has been sweetened. And from this wand, a piece was missing, not even that small.

So we asked Leo what he had done with it and he told us that...he had eaten it!

We were very surprised because, as mentioned, he is not a child who does this kind of thing, but he is not the type to tell lies either.

So, back home, we asked again and he insisted that he swallowed it.

At that point we panicked. It seemed unlikely to us, also because the piece was pointed and not so small, we could hardly believe that he could have swallowed it so easily and without choking.

We started thinking about everything and in the end we thought that the only chance we had to settle any doubts was to find that little piece.

But it was an impossible feat, worse than finding a needle in a haystack.

I went back to the garden and scanned all the space with my cell phone light. It was late, it was dark and I couldn't see much...in fact I couldn't find anything.

While I was already imagining a night in the hospital, among other things very far from where we are, my friends came with flashlights and helped me in the search.

We went on for a few more minutes and when we were about to give up, incredibly, we found it!!

Here it is...it was right in front of the entrance gate, very difficult to locate because it was half buried and in an unlit spot.

I heaved a huge sigh of relief and we also laughed, given the absurdity of the situation.

When I returned home and showed my son the piece of plastic to point out that he hadn't eaten it, he replied that he confirmed that he had swallowed it, he had expelled it from his ass and did not know how it got out there.

Welcome to the world of a parent of a three year old.

Buongiorno a tutti!

Ieri sera è successa una piccola disavventura di cui è stato protagonista mio figlio Leonardo, fortunatamente risoltasi senza nessuna conseguenza.

Sicuramente avrete visto dalla foto di copertina questo strano oggetto misterioso...ecco, c’entra con quello che è successo e, se non l’avete ancora capito, tra poco vi svelerò di cosa si tratta. Ma andiamo con ordine.

Ci siamo riuniti per la cena con i nostri amici, come spesso capita quando siamo qui in vacanza ad Acciaroli.
Loro hanno un bel giardino, con un barbecue, tavoli grandi, sedie e un angolo con l’ombrellone. Insomma, c’è tanto spazio, si sta freschi e ci piace stare in loro compagnia.

Abbiamo acceso la brace e abbiamo arrostito...loro hanno mangiato le salsicce e io e mia moglie, essendo vegetariani, abbiamo mangiato la provola.

La serata è trascorsa in allegria e serenità, con entrambi i miei figli che si sono scatenati, ognuno a modo suo e hanno creato, come spesso succede, anche tanti momenti divertenti.

Prima di andare via, abbiamo preso un caffè e a quel punto Leonardo ha voluto fare il suo solito caffè finto...nel senso che si diverte a prendere un bicchierino, simulare l’uscita del caffè dalla macchina e girarlo come se ci fosse dentro lo zucchero.

Fin lì nessun problema...è un bambino molto responsabile su queste cose e raramente compie gesti sciocchi o pericolosi.

Quando poi stavamo andando via tutti insieme, la nostra amica Rosaria ha notato che Leo aveva in mano la bacchetta monouso di plastica che si utilizza per girare il caffè dopo che è stato zuccherato. E da questa bacchetta, mancava un pezzo, neanche tanto piccolo.

Così abbiamo chiesto a Leo che cosa ne avesse fatto e lui ci ha detto che...l’aveva mangiato!

Ci siamo molto stupiti perché, come detto, non è un bambino che fa questo genere di cose, ma non è neanche il tipo da dire bugie.

Così, risaliti a casa, abbiamo chiesto di nuovo e lui insisteva nel dire di averlo ingoiato.

A quel punto siamo andati nel panico. Ci sembrava inverosimile, anche perché il pezzo era appuntito e neanche tanto piccolo, stentavamo a credere che avesse potuto ingoiarlo con così tanta facilità e senza strozzarsi.

Abbiamo iniziato a pensare di tutto e alla fine abbiamo pensato che l’unica possibilità che avevamo per dirimere qualunque dubbio, fosse ritrovare quel pezzettino.

Ma era un’impresa impossibile, peggio che ritrovare un ago in un pagliaio.

Sono tornato in giardino e ho setacciato tutto lo spazio con la luce del mio cellulare. Era tardi, c’era buio e non si vedeva molto...infatti non sono riuscito a trovare nulla.

Mentre già mi figuravo una nottata in ospedale, tra l’altro molto lontano da dove siamo noi, sono arrivati i miei amici muniti di torcia e mi hanno aiutato nella ricerca.

Siamo andati avanti ancora per alcuni minuti e quando stavamo per arrenderci, incredibilmente, l’abbiamo trovato!!

Eccolo qua...era proprio davanti al cancello d’entrata, difficilissimo da individuare perché era mezzo sotterrato e in un punto non illuminato.

Ho tirato un sospiro di sollievo enorme e ci siamo anche fatti una risata, vista l’assurdità della situazione.

Quando sono rientrato a casa e ho mostrato il pezzetto di plastica a mio figlio per fargli presente che non l’aveva mangiato, mi ha risposto che confermava di averlo ingoiato, l’aveva espulso dal culetto e non sapeva come fosse arrivato lì fuori.

Benvenuti nel mondo di un genitore di un bimbo di tre anni.
