I took this photograph to make a painting, and I confess that the original place was not the one you see in the photograph, it was a lot of dirt and a lot of dust where this boy was sitting, without clothes and with a ball Already worn out from so much fun playing with the children, when I saw him I was trapped in his face stained by that mixture of sweat and dirt, that lost look full of innocence and so deeply thoughtful, I ran for my phone and when I looked for it to stay with that moment was gone forever, well, I looked for him and when I saw him his face was already clean and he was wearing his underwear, so it was that I asked him to please give me that photograph for a painting, the boy did not want to, he felt sorry to pose before me, until I convinced him.
I couldn't find a way to connect him to that image in the dirt field where I found him the first time watching the other children play until I asked him what he was thinking when he watched the others play. And ready! In that tiny moment where I managed to take him to that place in his thoughts, I shot my camera and managed to capture that look, again... What did it weigh? I don't know, I never knew, I just know that that thought erased his smile, again, and what thought can erase a child's smile, when they just want to have fun?
