Caterpillar - Macro Photography

I found this insect which is called caterpillar in my compound today. It was almost 10 pm when I went to lock the gate that I stumbled upon it. At first, I thought it was a stray hairs. I had to take a close look at it before noticing it was an animal that just lay on the ground.

I thought it has lost its way cause this kind of creature are hardly found in the surrounding. They mostly stay in the farm feeding on leaves.

While taking the shots, a red ant showed up. At first, it tried to grab and move it but couldn't. It's hooks/furs were there to protect it.

I think those soft hairs are what it uses to protect itself against any attack by predators. This is actually my first time of seeing this kind of Caterpillar.
