Life - Plant Perspective

in hive-184714 •  29 days ago

These were the first of my maize and guinea-corn that grew up after the first few days they were planted. Both were planted on same day but did you notice the difference?

The maize came out first while the guinea-corn emerged later on. All were planted along side with others but not all made it.

Some were feasted by birds while they try to germinate while others didn't even germinate at all but decayed due to one thing or the other.

The following week, we ended up replanting another set of maize, guinea-corn and soya beans. This is cover up the previous loss and not allow the farm to be scanty.

One of the most important thing to consider is that no guarantee that the first that made grew up is the first that will be harvested. Right now, the Guinea-corn is doing very well and seems to be taking over the maize after 3 month.

I really couldn't tell which is which, but it seems to me that replanting was the best thing they did to get the harvest.
I wish you a happy night

Yeah, thay always look alike even when they are small but if you look closely, you would find the difference. The guinea-corn is slender and long while the maize has a wider body.

"Wow! 🌱👏 Your maize and guinea-corn are thriving! 😊 I love how you shared the journey from planting to harvesting, including the setbacks and replanting. It's great to see your farm growing and flourishing! 💪 The before-and-after pics are amazing too! 📸

I'm curious, what do you think is the most challenging part of farming for you? And how do you ensure that your crops get enough water and nutrients?

Also, I noticed that the guinea-corn seems to be taking over after 3 months. Are there any plans to harvest them soon?

Great job on sharing your experience with us! Keep posting and engaging with our community 🤗"

Thank you.
The first setback was birds and chicken feasted on some of the seeds even before they germinate. So there was need for replanting which required more time and resources. I had to sacrifice because i needed a good harvest.

For the water, it is raining steadily over here cause this is the season so we don't bother much about water. For the nutrients, there is enough in the farm cause I did ridges before planting.

As they have grown, the hardest challenge now are people who on several occasions burst into the farm tho steal the maize even when they have not reached for harvesting.
