Application For Community Curator For October 2024 | True Colours

Yes I saw, sorry there is only @stef1 as European, but with surprise there are 2 from the US, not bad.

I like the idea of a group for comments.

A few years ago there was a project in Italy where the most talkative users were rewarded, there was a leaderboard and the winners were given a special label next to their username.

Let me know more about your commenting group idea.😜

Sort Order:

We can start in October since I am free and you are too. We can ask a few if they like to join us commenting. A group of 5 to start with willing to comment on a few posts per day and answer if a reply is received. We dan try it out for 3 or 4 weeks and see if we notice a difference. Is Italy a good test subject? We can try it out in different communities as well of if it works great we dan divide and ask a few new ones to comment for one or two week in a community that lacks comments. I hope that after a few weeks there will be people who start commenting as well. I see change in the comment contests where if I am not presents one or two others keep talking to those who drop a comment. It would be good if more communites have a comment contest (later just a comment topic of the week) so engagement is kind of guaranteed and people talk to another. I did notice in the past weeks that if you start with this you need one active person who will comment on literally everyone (you already have gems.and.cookies).

Let's see if we can find a few people who join us. It will save time if we do not have to translate every word that is said.

The US is not Europe and it's not about the curators but the fact writers from Europe are rarely rewarded. I checked it.

By the way I can also make a post in freewriters and ask who likes to join. If there are more we can start in smaller communities to give a positive push.

@joslud @yancar @shahid76 @jiva34 do you have time to join our commenting group?

We like to test if more people are wiling to comment. The idea is to start in the community Italy. We could all leave 3 comment behind daily and see if we can create more interaction.

If you miss a day it's no problem as long as we comment and try to reply if we receive an answer. Let me know what you think.

Hi,
Thanks for considering inviting me.
Sure you will, let's try it. 👍

Great, let's see who more will join and give this a try. If we are with more we can expand and visit different communities. Let's meet after the weekend.

Very nice idea. This will encourage comments. Engagement with everyone will increase. I really like grouping the comments section.

By grouping you mean you like to join the commenting group? I hope you understand this is a test and we will try it out in the Italy community first. It is not only about leaving a comment but also a good valuable one and engagement. This means if the author replies you should answer and keep the conversation going on.

I checked your comments and you don't look like a great commenter this is what you should be because the idea is that no matter what the post is you should be able to write some text. You can comment on two of my posts and we can practice what to say or not to open a conversation.

@wakeupkitty ,
Thank you so much for inviting me. I feel honored by this proposal.I am interested in working with you if you think I am qualified for the job or have the qualifications for this job. And thank you again for inscribing me.

All you have to do is comment on a few posts daily. It's up to you which posts and we hope we can trigger more people to start commenting and replying again. I noticed you are very active and that's why I think you are perfect to test this with us.

We like to try it in the community Italy for a few weeks. If it works we can see if we can do the same in other communities where commenting is not used.
I would say welcome on board.

Shall we use #wewrite underneath our comment?

This is a good suggestion. By commenting on different posts, we Steemians can get closer to each other. We can share each other's knowledge. Thank you for joining me in your forum.

Of course we can start in the Italian community. It's a very good idea.
As for the Europeans, it's true that they don't get much curation. Maybe we really need a Europe community to unite us all.
Yes, the US is not Europe, but I'm glad that they finally have representatives. Of course the West on Steemit is a smaller numerical presence than everything else.

Yes, of course I could participate.

Great, than we are a group of volunteers and start commenting in October in Italy. If we all can do about 3 comment per day this means the amount of comments but also interaction should be noticeable increase. If that works and writers comment back we can try another community for a few week. Can be also two weeks is enough.
For now I would say let's take it easy. It's a bit extra what we do and if you can't comment on a day it's no big deal.

Let's use #wewrite underneath the comments I noticed people start using it also those sho don't join the writing course.

Now that internet is back after 4 days due to the hurricane here in Florida I can access Steemit again. Still no electric or water, but hey if there's internet that's what really counts. Right? I had been commenting 3 or 4 times on different posts. Got some nice responses. Working at a team sounds like more fun. I can give it a go. Thanks

You did not miss much. Steemit has log in trouble since last Friday night and today it's Monday.
Also I already answered this comment of yours and I notice it disappeared.

Increased activity on Steemit may be overloading the server...

No, they work on the interface
