A writer records in a book whatever experiences, realizations or discoveries he has made in his life. We can improve ourselves a lot by reading the book and learning the author's experience and knowledge in a short time. This proves the importance of the book.
However, only reading books is not mandatory in acquiring knowledge. We constantly gain knowledge from different experiences—such as walking down the street, talking to someone, or traveling somewhere. It is personal perception knowledge, which comes from our life. If this realized knowledge is expressed in book form, it reaches others, and those who read the book can improve themselves. That means, the best knowledge is self-understanding, and it can come from any medium, not just books.
Limitations of the book at a glance:
Not all book knowledge is applicable in all cases.
The book is the author's own perception, which is not always verified.
The content of the book is often a reflection of the social, political, economic, cultural, and religious context of its time, which may not be relevant today.
Many propagandistic books (intentionally made) can mislead the society.
Theoretical knowledge is mainly obtained through books.
Not all books can be read due to language limitations.
For all these reasons, I don't think books are the only best way to acquire knowledge. However, I myself love to read books and learn a lot from books. But I think we can gain knowledge from different sources, and the best knowledge is self-understanding, which can come from any medium. No particular medium is best for acquiring knowledge—whatever medium we can use to grasp knowledge is best.
Since ancient times they realized the importance of transmitting knowledge, from tablets to books, but the current reality is sad because fewer and fewer people read a book.
Nothing good will come of that.
