Sorpresine in casa e cortile n.3/Little surprises at home and in the courtyard n.3

La sorpresina di oggi nel mio cortile è stata una sorpresona. Questa bella colomba bianca ha scelto il cortile di casa mia per trascorrere il pomeriggio. Le foglie della pianta che è nata spontaneamente qui in cortile l'hanno particolarmente attratta, così come attraggono un buon numero di altri uccelli che arrivano quotidianamente (specie se non piove). Ho provveduto subito a spargere nell'area briciole di biscotti di riso, pane e ho riempito d'acqua i misurini che lascio appositamente per gli uccelli. Era veramente affamata, povera, non ha fatto che mangiare! Si è trattenuta per ben quattro ore prima di volar via, esplorando perfino il nostro deposito attrezzi e materiali da costruzione. Spero di rivederla presto.

Today's little surprise in my courtyard was a big one. This beautiful white dove chose the courtyard of my house to spend the afternoon. The leaves of the plant that has sprung up spontaneously here, attracted the dove particularly, as it does with a good number of other birds that arrive on a daily basis (especially if it doesn't rain). I immediately scattered crumbs of rice biscuits and bread around the area and filled the measuring cups I leave for the birds with water. It was really hungry, poor dove: all she did was eating! She stayed for a good four hours before flying away, even exploring our tool and building materials store. I hope to see it again soon.
