Good evening everyone, today I am writing to talk about a small personal satisfaction, and in general also about the vaccine situation in Tuscany.
First: my grandfather got vaccinated! He's 94 and got his second dose (of Pfizer) this morning. Although I look forward to when the the 60-70 range will be able to get vaccinated, which includes my parents, the fact that my grandfather was able to do both doses already makes me extremely happy.

To date, 6,221,316 people have completed the vaccination cycle in Italy.

20,652,663 are instead the total doses injected.

In Tuscany, however, things are still not going satisfactorily enough.
In fact, the 1,297,036 doses were divided as follows:

526,329 in the 80-90 + range
275,165 in the 70-79 range
102,913 in the 60-69 range
140,419 in the 50-59 range
109,584 in the 40-49 range
140,766 in the 20-39 range

A brief check of the various data in the different regions shows that, compared to others, the 60-69 range is the weakest in Tuscany. Recall that this is an age group that should instead be considered high risk, also made up of both workers and people who may have to take care of other family members - older or younger relatives.

Sorry if I arm myself with data, but I believe that in this case they are of primary importance.
I therefore allow myself to do a small sampling of the doses injected in the 60-69 range.

60-69 range.

• In Tuscany of the 102,913 doses administered to the 60-69, only 2,053 were performed on people who did not fall into a priority category.
  It means that the remaining 100,860 administered doses were performed on frail people.

• In Lazio, for example, 346,150 administrations have already been carried out in the 60-69 range, of which 230,333 to people not belonging to priority categories.

• In Sicily 284,613 of which 76,457 to people not belonging to priority categories.

• In Lombardy 3,070,029 of which 266,669 to people not belonging to priority categories.

By checking each region, it is observed that Tuscany is the furthest behind in this age group, and that those who received the vaccine did not do so by age but exclusively for pathologies or frailties or by job category.

This fact, if I have to be honest, alarms me a lot. Especially if we consider that instead in Lazio they are already systematically vaccinating the 60-69 range, while here in Tuscany to vaccinate all those between 70 and 79 we will have to wait until the end of May.

To be honest, I'm a little outraged. Of course, to better understand the situation, it would be necessary to have a clear percentage between the number of people living in the region belonging to an age group, and the number of people actually vaccinated. There is that in proportion in the end Tuscany is not so bad.

However, the data currently available to us shows that in fact the 60-69 range is one of those that will make us better understand the actual progress of the vaccination campaign and its success.

I will be overly optimistic, but the hope is that when all those over 60 (even better 50) have been vaccinated, then we can start to feel a little more peaceful. Obviously, always hoping that in the meantime the Covid19 variants do not become totally immune to the vaccines we currently have available.

Buonasera a tutti, oggi scrivo per parlare di una piccola soddisfazione personale, ed in generale anche sul punto della situazione vaccini in Toscana.
In primo luogo: mio nonno si è vaccinato! Ha 94 anni e stamattina ha fatto la seconda dose (di Pfizer). Sebbene io attenda con gloria che si sbrighino a vaccinare la fascia 60-70, in cui rientrano i miei genitori, già il fatto che mio nonno abbia potuto fare entrambe le dosi mi rende estremamente felice.

Ad oggi in Italia hanno completato il ciclo vaccinale 6.221.316 persone.

20.652.663 sono invece le somministrazioni totali effettuate.

In Toscana tuttavia le cose non stanno andando ancora in modo abbastanza soddisfaciente.
Sono infatti state effettuate 1.297.036 somministrazioni, suddivise in questo modo:

526.329 nella fascia 80-90+
275.165 nella fascia 70-79
102.913 nella fascia 60-69
140.419 nella fascia 50-59
109.584 nella fascia 40-49
140.766 nella fascia 20-39

Un breve controllo tra i vari dati nelle diverse regioni mostra che, rispetto ad altre, la fascia 60-69 è la più debole in Toscana. Ricordiamo che si tratta di una fascia di età che dovrebbe invece essere considerata ad alto rischio, costituita inoltre sia da lavoratori sia da persone che magari si devono prendere cura di altri familiari – parenti più anziani o più giovani.

Scusate se mi armo di dati, ma credo che in questo caso siano di prioritaria importanza.
Mi permetto dunque di fare una piccola campionatura sulle dosi somministrate nella fascia 60-69.

Fascia 60-69

• In Toscana delle 102.913 dosi somministrate ai 60-69, soltanto 2.053 sono state effettuate su persone che non rientravano in una categoria prioritaria.
  Significa che le restanti 100.860 dosi somministrate sono state effettuate su persone fragili.

• Nel Lazio, ad esempio, sono già state effettuate 346.150 somministrazioni nella fascia 60-69, di cui 230.333 a persone non appartenenti a categorie prioritarie.

• In Sicilia 284.613 di cui 76.457 a persone non appartenenti a categorie prioritarie.

• In Lombardia 3.070.029 di cui 266.669 a persone non appartenenti a categorie prioritarie.

Controllando ciascuna regione, si osserva che la Toscana è quella maggiormente indietro in questa fascia d'età, e che coloro che hanno ricevuto il vaccino non lo hanno fatto per età ma esclusivamente per patologie o fragilità o per categoria di lavoro.

Questo dato, se devo essere sincero, mi allarma non poco. Soprattutto se consideriamo che invece nel Lazio stanno già sistematicamente vaccinando la fascia 60-69, mentre qua in Toscana per vaccinare tutti quelli tra i 70 ed i 79 dovremo aspettare la fine di Maggio.

Se devo essere onesto, sono un po' indignato. Certo, per capire meglio la situazione occorrerebbe avere una percentuale chiara tra il numero di persone abitanti nella ragione appartenenti ad una fascia di età, e il numero di effettivamente vaccinati. Ci stà che in proporzione alla fine la Toscana non sia messa così male.

Tuttavia il dato attualmente a nostra disposizione mostra che di fatto la fascia 60-69 è una di quelle che maggiormente ci farà comprendere l'effettivo avanzamento della campagna vaccinale e del suo successo.

Sarò eccessivamente ottimista, ma la speranza è che quando tutti gli over 60 (ancora meglio 50) saranno stati vaccinati, allora potremo iniziare a stare un pochino più sereni. Ovviamente, sempre sperando che nel mentre le varianti del Covid19 non divengano totalmente immuni ai vaccini che abbiamo attualmente a disposizione.
