La Notte delle Stelle Cadenti! - Night of the Shooting Stars!

Chi riesce a rimanere insensibile al fascino delle Stelle Cadenti?

Come ogni anno ecco arrivare la notte di San Lorenzo, attesa da grandi e piccini per la pioggia di Stelle Cadenti che ci regala! Perché l’idea di vederne una ed esprimere un desiderio ci riempie di aspettative, poiché si racconta che sono desideri che si realizzano velocemente!

Le così dette Stelle Cadenti altro non sono che lo sciame meteorico delle Perseidi, ossia un fenomeno astronomico derivato dal passaggio della cometa Swift Tuttle, che impiega 133 anni a girare intorno al Sole lasciando dietro di se frammenti di ghiaccio e detriti, che viaggiando ad una velocità di 200mila Km/H esplodono quando entrano in contatto con la nostra atmosfera; dando vita alla pioggia di meteore tra le più spettacolari dell’anno!

Le Perseidi però, regaleranno tantissime Stelle Cadenti la notte tra mercoledì 11 e giovedì12, addirittura 100 in un’ora e il momento migliore per vederle sarà tra mezzanotte e l’alba!

Si vedranno benissimo ad occhio nudo basterà guardare il cielo nel quadrante di nord-est, cercare la Costellazione di Cassiopea ( quella che ricorda una W) e subito sotto di lei si vedrà la Costellazione di Perseo, da dove partiranno le Stelle Cadenti.

Like every year, here comes the night of San Lorenzo, awaited by young and old for the rain of Falling Stars that it gives us! Because the idea of seeing one and making a wish fills us with expectations, as it is said that they are desires that come true quickly!

The so-called Falling Stars are none other than the meteor shower of the Perseids, that is an astronomical phenomenon derived from the passage of the comet Swift Tuttle, which takes 133 years to revolve around the Sun leaving behind it fragments of ice and debris, which traveling to a speeds of 200 thousand km / h explode when they come into contact with our atmosphere; giving life to one of the most spectacular meteor showers of the year!

The Perseids, however, will give away many shooting stars on the night between Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12, even 100 in an hour and the best time to see them will be between midnight and dawn!

They will be seen very well with the naked eye just look at the sky in the north-east quadrant, look for the Constellation of Cassiopeia (the one that resembles a W) and immediately below it you will see the Constellation of Perseus, from where the Falling Stars will start.
