I'm back with another IPA this week and from the grandparents of modern craft beers if you will. I remember visiting California in 2001 before the word hipster had entered the lexicon of our collective vernacular and Sierra Nevada were brewing and selling IPAs. So for me, it's always nice to give them some business and take a little trip down memory lane in the process. Ok, so this week's beer is none other than...

What they say

"A light American IPA which is very sessionable! Crisp and refreshing with citrus fruit notes, a hint of pine and a little caramel."

Beer Art

What can I say about the beer art here? Well it's distinctively Sierra Nevada, no question about it and it's a nice shade of blue, but for me it's a bit boring, a bit safe, a bit predictable.

Thoughts

Beer is always a good drink to accompany a spicy curry and this one went down very well with my Thai Red Curry. The crisp hoppy beer helped to keep the edge of the spiciness of the dish. This one poured with a decent sized head which lasted quite well, it's clearly made by a brewery that knows what it's doing with great balance and flavour going on. I'll be buying a few more 4 packs of these soon 👌
