Dear friends of Steemit and of this community

There are those who go down in history as centers of importance for an achievement, but history itself is responsible for demonstrating that they have not been the ones who deserve the recognition, here is the story of one such case

ANTONIO MEUCCI

What would you think, if you have spent a lifetime thinking that someone is the father of a discovery and then you find out that this is not so, that the real creator is someone else.

This happens with the character that I describe below, we were always told that Alexander Graham Bell had discovered the telephone and in reality it was not so, the man who made this discovery is the Italian engineer Antonio Meucci.

Yes, as you read, this man was born in Florence on April 13, 1808 and emigrated to the USA and Cuba in 1835. Considered a great researcher, in 1854 he presented a device that he called "telettrófoni", an apparatus that sent electromagnetic waves through a metallic bar, but due to lack of money he could not register his invention, preferring to present two others that went down in history, the water filter and the candles made with kerosene.

At some point his wife for lack of resources, sold the documents containing the details of his inventions and apparently these fell into the hands of Alexander Graham Bell who had a powerful company and registered the telephone as his invention.

The engineer Meucci, sued, but nothing could be done, the lack of 250 dollars cost him immortality, against him also acted the corruption in the registry offices, his few economic resources and the fact of not having mastered the English language.

Disappointed and very poor, he died in New York on October 18, 1889. On June 11, 2002, the U.S. House of Representatives declared Antonio Meucci as the official inventor of the telephone, a late glory, but which serves to let us know today who, with his effort and creativity, was the creator of something that is today indispensable for the world.
