Digital Art, New Competition (No.32) - Backlash or... don't touch it with your hands!

in hive-185836 •  10 months ago

Since childhood we have been told that we should not touch objects unknown to us with our hands, because we can get burned if we touch something hot, or we can get an electric shock if we try to stick a nail into a socket.

Our parents tell us that we can’t do this, but we only understand this when we personally experience the backlash from the object we want to touch or do something unthinkable.

Personally I remember such moments but the highlight of it all was an attempt to ride a tricycle down a flight of stairs in our entrance it was dangerous, but it was necessary... I guess that’s what I thought at that moment.

And of course I really wanted to poke the balloon with something sharp which was supposed to burst with a roar I was afraid of this but I had to do it without fail.

Such thoughts became the basis for my next digital art work which I would call... Backlash or... don’t touch it with your hands!

I saw the opposite reaction in the form of a frightened balloon towards which my finger was reaching.

One day while walking with my family, we watched a pleasure balloon with a gondola flying in the sky.

I photographed him and this photograph became the basis of the work.

In order for the intended picture to acquire the meaning I needed I used a second photograph taken a few seconds after the first my son asked me to photograph his hand which is reaching for a small balloon.

No the ball is huge but it was very far from us.

So, I uploaded the photo to the pixlr.com photo editor and got to work.

On top of the first photograph I superimposed the second photograph, made it transparent for mastabination and when I got the desired size of the hand I removed everything unnecessary from the second photograph and canceled the transparency.

I combined both photographs together and continued working.

It's time to make the balloon's scared face who really doesn't want anyone to touch him.

To create the face I used paints that were present in photographs a retouching tool darkening-lightening and deformation which allowed me to draw or sculpt a picture like a plasticine sculpture.

After working on the background and sharpening the image I got what you already saw in the first photo of this post.
