A month ago, when the days were still very hot, I found this big spider in the tall, dry grass.
This is the Argiope lobata spider ...
... or, more precisely, these are two Argiope lobata spiders. You can see the big female in the foreground, and the much smaller male blurred in the background.
The female is feeding on some grasshopper. The male is resting in the corner of the large web, at the safe distance.
