There is a forest near the sea, in the coastal area about 6 kilometers from my home. Often, after some hours spent on the beach, I go for long walks through the shade under the trees, in search for insects and other interesting stuff to photograph. In this post you'll see some interesting species I photographed during this month that will end soon.
This beautiful butterfly, the Silver-washed Fritillary ...
... can often be seen resting on the fallen foliage ... when not feeding on the meadows near to the sea.
The short rain that fell a couple of days before this shot was taken created a small pool in between the thick main branches of the oak tree.
This juvenile Argiope bruennichi has caught some diurnal moth.
Many spiders are hanging on their orbs above the narrow paths that lead through the forest.
Once I found even rusted parts of some ancient bicycle sprouting from the soil.
Various small moth can be often seen on the lower branches of the smaller trees.
This species is particularly elegant and quite beautiful.
Here you can see some small, long-legged spider that has caught a planthopper.
In this shady, always slightly humid environment, you can find small mushrooms even during the summer drought.
This big wolf spider was photographed on the ivy spread across the forest floor.
This is one of quite a few colorful bush - cricket species that can be found on the foliage of various shrubs that grow under the trees.
The funnel web spiders build huge silky constructions under the trees.
And that's all, as always in posts, the photographs are my work - THE END.
