While walking along the coastline these days, before and after some swimming, snorkeling and having fun on the beach, I usually take some photographs along the way. Here you can take a look at the summer collection from the July 2021.
This is my favorite stretch of coastline seen from the highest hill in the area.
This shot was taken from the same place. A small, white boat is anchored not far from the shore. The people on it are probably enjoying the lazy & sunny summer atmosphere.
This small jumping spider was photographed on the thorny coastal vegetation ...
... just like the colorful, shinny jewel beetle on this photograph.
The relatively big fishing boat used for hunting the sardines is returning to the port.
This is a shallow coastal pool that regularly evaporates in the hottest part of the year.
When the pool dries out, its marine fauna dies.
The small short - toed lark, a very common bird in this coastal environment, has caught some pretty big, fat cricket, and now is singing high on some big shrub.
This is some small but lovely succulent plant that grows on the poor soil in between rocks near the sea.
Some small, empty shell of a land snail.
The marbled white butterfly on the coastal meadow.
This small coastal plant (about 10 cm or so) that's leaning against the rock kinda looks much bigger, a bit like some miniature tree. This isn't its usual shape, just this one somehow grew like that.
Some tourists have fun with the speedboat.
The local fisherman is preparing the fish traps as the sun is going down.
Some big ship with a cargo of containers is passing in the distance, along the horizon.
The four - lined snakes are coming out of the hole in the ground.
These non - venomous snakes are among the biggest in Europe, about 2 meters long.
In the evening, the big stag - beetles fly from the nearby forests of the evergreen oak. Some of these beetles fall on the ground from time to time, and then I can photograph them.
A seed pod of some wild pea - like plant, photographed in the intense midday light.
Lovely flowers of the wild onion that grows in the muddy inlet near the port.
Last look at some other plant that grows in the same area ... and that's all. Hope you enjoyed this summer walk along the sea. As always in posts, the photographs are my work.
