Here’s Hoping November is a GOOD Month for Everyone!

Well, somehow we made it to the month of November! I have no idea what this year went… seems like it was just summer, and now the year is almost over.

For me, November marks the beginning of ”indoor season,” in earnest. This weekend, we set back the clocks to ”standard time,” and with that it starts being dark at around 5:00pm in the late afternoon… at least on cloudy days.

Part of the joy of living this far north is that we have these fabulous long and light summer nights, but the counterpoint to that is that November, December and January — when our cloud cover tends to be the thickest — tend to be rather dark with very short days.

Winter is drawing close; this morning I noticed snow on the nearby mountains for the first time this season. The last of the winter snows up there typically melts in June, and it is this ”reserve” of water that helps keep this part of the world as green as it is.

To be honest, I am glad we made it through October, which was another rather lackluster month. A disappointing month, actually, because I had hoped for an uptick in my businesses, as well as an uptick in the crypto markets, and we really got neither.

I suppose if your primary crypto holdings are Bitcoin you’d be pretty content, though… for anything else, it was basically sideways.

I’m hopeful that November will be better.

For me, it is partially a time of the year where business gets a little better because we start going to holiday Arts and Crafts shows, and that often boosts the bottom line a little before the end of the year.

I suppose I should be happy to be able to say that it looks like my results will be up by about 10% over last year — current projections — but I am only mildly happy because our cost of living is up significantly more than that, meaning that it will actually be a ”net backwards” year, once everything is said and done.

As far as my Steemit goals go, the race is still on to see whether or not I can make it to 10,000SP before the end of 2024! It would be nice if that were possible, but I fear I’ll likely fall a little bit short.

I suppose part of my dis-ease — likely, as well as that of many other people’s — is related to the ongoing US Presidential election circus. Next week we get to have an answer, of some sort.

It’s funny to look back and think how it was ultimately ”people behaving badly” on Facebook in late 2016 that nudged me in the direction of Steemit and inspired me to open my account here in January 2017.

Whereas I still have my Facebook account, I am very rarely active there, anymore… and I can’t honestly say that I miss it very much. That said, it is handy for sharing photos and messages with my family back in Denmark… proof, perhaps, that it’s actually not easy to have all your social media needs met by one single platform!

Lately, I have been a lot less ”regular” around here than I had hoped… and it is (at least!) my intention to change that, for the final couple of months of 2024. Not making any promises, but I will do my best!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great weekend!
