For a change of perspective, I am actually writing this post from our hotel room in Ocean Shores, Washington... a small seaside resort town by the Pacific Coast.
The boardwalk to the ocean
Writing those words makes me realize that I haven't actually been "away" since we were last here, in March of 2019. In a sense, it's testament to the way Covid lockdowns changed life... or, at least, some lives.
So what's the occasion? As I wrote in my previous post, Mrs. Denmarkguy is giving a presentation at this year's UFO/Paranormal Summit, and I am here as a vendor with my artwork. Yes, you could say we're that kind of "tin foil hat people!"
Welcome to the BIG ocean!
In some ways I think I have gotten very used to not going anywhere... and very comfortable with the whole "sheltering in place" thing. It's not that I don't enjoy exploring my surroundings, but at the same time, I really prefer my known surroundings. Paradox, no?
Still, one of the things I really like about this venue is the fact that it is on the actual Pacific Beach. Being able to walk out your hotel and onto the actual beach in a few minutes is pretty cool. Glad to do so - even after a long drive - since it was a beautiful sunny evening and we're going to be socked in with heavy rains for the rest of the weekend.
There is very little here!
It's just different from living on the water of a protected bay.
I'm actually writing this post on my phone - which I'm not used to - so I'm not sure how far I'm going to get! I decided not to bring a laptop, because it's going to be end-to-end activities tomorrow and Saturday... and I don't need distractions.
Of course, the point here is to make a living... well, some income, anyway... but just for now, I'm allowing myself to forget about that.
The land here is crisscrossed by numerous tidal canals
I was going to write more but I am just too tired, and trying to type on this tiny device is not helping!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great Friday!

And very beautiful. I really like the photo where sand and sea merge into one.
