Quiet New Year's Eve and Day - Happy New Year, Everyone!

And so, we have made it to 2023!

Not one to try to speculate and predict, but I do find myself wondering what this new year has to offer...

We had a very quiet New Year's Eve at home... a fair bit of wind and rain blew through, so we decided to just stay warm and comfortable and watch movies on TV till it became midnight.

Seemed like there were almost no fireworks in our area this year... unusually few. Didn't bother our dog and cats much... they are usually not much for sudden loud noises.

Today, we enjoyed our "traditional" New Year's Day "shrimp boil" which has been an annual thing for about a decade, now. Nothing like a hefty dose of shrimp and garlic to welcome in the new year!

Haven't gotten around to creating a "Steemit Goals" post for 2023 yet... and maybe I will, but maybe I won't. Mostly, I spent today just "capturing data" for both my blogs and several of my businesses at year end. I like having accurate "benchmark numbers" to compare to, for the rest of the year.

Since New Year's Day fell on a Sunday this year, it will still be a public (bank) holiday here in the USA tomorrow (Monday) so I am not terribly worried about getting everything done today.

The first few days of a new year always feel like they move rather slowly... a lot of data capture and setting up "systems" for the year ahead... all part of the fun of being self-employed!

My biggest goal for 2023 actually concerns building the business behind my artwork... which has been somewhat neglected during what we call "the Pandemic Years." Above all, we (Mrs. Denmarkguy helps with this) are trying to find ways to make online sales more viable... because they have been pretty miserable.

We don't have very many means of increasing our income, but we very much need to, during the coming year.

Well, going to leave this as a somewhat short post, this time around... it is already late, and I need to get some sleep.

Happy New Year, all... and have a great first week of 2023!

Happy New Year to you!

Here in Berlin, there was a steady stream of firecrackers from 29th December onwards. On New Year's Eve, it really got going from 10pm until the early hours of the morning. People were pretty "starved" after two years of prohibition.

For us it was uncomfortable after a while, I don't even want to think about pets... I hope the mood in general will become calmer and more level-headed again.

Ein glückliches Neues Jahr für Euch!

Hier in Berlin hat es vom 29. Dezember an stetig geböllert.

Congratulations!
