My father always insisted that the only way to live life was to always do your best at whatever you decided to try your hand at... regardless of whether it was learning another language, still life painting or building a collection of something.
Needless to say, he was not much of a "dabbler;" he was either "all in" or not a participant. It's one of his personality characteristics I seem to have inherited. Or at least a value for living that I aspire to follow.
I got to thinking about precisely that this afternoon as I slowly mowed my way through listing items for sale on eBay. By the end of the day, I had managed to add 32 new listings.
To most people familiar with eBay that probably doesn't sound like much... but it takes quite a lot of time to do things properly.
Most people probably couldn't be bothered. Couldn't be bothered to do such things as resize and color correct photos, and try to answer in the listings (ahead of time) whatever questions a prospective buyer might have.
Made me think about how the way I do things always seems to be very slow compared to others... but in the end I have a lot fewer headaches and hassles than they do.
You get what you pay for, I suppose...
Anyway, at the end of the day, I had managed to add 32 new listings... in an amount of time many people could have used to probably add more than 100 items.
But here's the thing, I feel satisfied with what I accomplished, and I have learned to not compare myself to others anymore... I am mostly trying to impress myself, not other people.
Oh, and generally my buyers on eBay have always been pretty happy with me!
Thanks for stopping by, and have a great remainder of your week!
