Today was not much of a productive day, around these parts.
Even though I gave it "the old college try," I was never able to really get on track and concentrate on my work for very long. I just felt "scattered," pretty much all day long.
And it wasn't as if I had a shortage of things I needed to get done!
For a while I pondered whether it was just a side effect from watching too much news, and spending too much time reading about the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria and getting sad as I feel for the plight of those poor people.
Even when I turned to writing in my journal — one of my favorite cathartic activities — it did very little to help my world feel more together.
A long time ago, a psychotherapist friend told me that on days when things really aren't going well, the best we can do is stop fighting it.
So I (more ore less!) stopped fighting it.
That said, Mrs. Denmarkguy and I have an arts and crafts show we're attending as vendors this weekend, and we still need to be well prepared for the show.
At least I was able to do a little organizational work for the show. Thankfully, we've been doing these events for so long that we have a standardized checklist of what needs to be ready, so even when I can't full get on track, I am at least still capable of checking off items on a list!
Thank goodness for small favors!
My rather "flat" mood has actually been taking hold of me for several days, now. Hence, I haven't been making any blog posts recently... which always makes me feel bad, not so much because I think people are necessarily missing me, but because I like to keep a regular "log" of life, and not miss too many days.
Hopefully my brain will start "working" again tomorrow. Or — at the very least — in time for the art show, this weekend!
Thanks for stopping by, and have a great rest of your week!
How about YOU? Do you ever feel "flat?" Like your brain went on holiday, but left you behind? Do leave a comment — share your experiences — be part of the conversation!
