That's Life: How it Seems Like "Something" Always Happens!

A friend of mine once said that it always seemed like I was looking around like I expected a "1,000lb Acme Safe" to drop out of nowhere onto my head... a bit like the Roadrunner and Coyote cartoons.

For me, it has always just been a matter of preparedness, something I can mostly attribute to my father's teachings. He always warned me not to get "too comfortable" or "too complacent," particularly when things seemed to be going really well.

Maybe it sounds a bit defeatist, but the truth is that I always do have one eye turned towards whatever could potentially go wrong in a situation.

In a strange way, it's one of the things that prepares me well for the wild gyrations of the Cryptosphere!

Of course, "something" always does seem to happen.

In this case, what "happened" was that this morning it seemed like the central heating in our house is broken! Naturally, this happened on a Friday, and now I find myself worried that my plans to keep powering up this year might be disrupted by an expensive repair bill!

If the cause of the failure is something "major," we could easily be looking at a $1,000 or more outlay... yikes! Of course, we are crossing our fingers that it is not something major... but you have to be prepared for the worst.

It is sometimes challenging to be a homeowner. There's no landlord to call, when things go wrong... the bottom line is all ours. And the cost of home repairs can be quite large.

I try to tell myself that part of the reason I have been blogging diligently for over five years is precisely that it would allow us to have an "emergency fund" of sorts... but even so, you are never quite prepared for the reality of that fund suddenly becoming necessary!

So, please join me in hoping that I shall not been needing to power down my Steem Power balance!

Thanks for reading, and have a great weekend!
