To talk about the Triptych

Each of us has our own understanding of some moments and it is not often that we all agree on something. But as for art, everything in this area has long been defined, described, classified and laid out on shelves. Now you don't need to have sensible dictionaries at home, some special literature, you don't need to go to the library to find what you don't have in your own to understand some difficult moments, to learn about the meaning of definitions, concepts and specific terms. Everything is digitized and stored in excessive quantities on servers, and search engines find everything easily and quickly on the first request. And so I'm doing it to find out how the triptych differs from the usual work.

TRIPTYCH:

A triptych is a work of fine art that consists of three separate parts. All parts are united by a common composition and idea. The parts of the triptych have their own plots, but the meanings and artistic images are revealed only when contemplating the entire work.The zoning of the artistic space allows you to place semantic accents in the composition and create a narrative that is accessible to perception.

To me, this description seems quite sufficient to try to express in my photo work what is difficult to do using one photo.

However, no matter how hard I tried to reveal the meaning with the help of three pictures, I failed, and I suggest looking at a photopolyptych consisting of four photographs.

What I got is called a Quadriptych:

Quadriptych(Quadriptych) or tetraptych (Tetraptych) is a composition of four interconnected works of art forming a single work of art. In general, any such compositions consisting of two or more parts are called a polyptych.
