"What if we fall?" her worried eyes found mine.
I smiled, sank to my knees and opened up my arms. "Do you remember the northern lights?" I asked her. She nodded and climbed up into my hug. I held her tight. Her tiny heartbeat fluttered against my chest.
"The same magic that makes the light dance in the sky will help us fly". I squeezed her and stood up. The sleigh, made from mountain birch by my great grandmother, sank in the snow as I climbed in still holding her. I brushed snow off the soft reindeer fur and for a moment we sat in silence looking down the hill.
"Are you ready?" She glanced back at me and gave me a short nod.
"Alright. Let's fly!!" Our weight shifting sent the sleigh flying down the hill, we jumped and suddenly we soared!

Isn't it amazing how a regular day, while performing a regular activity, can harbor a fantastic moment? I have not flown over the snow, not even in a dream, but I do remember doing it on a very long jump, while jumping on my parents' new bed, many years ago now. Loved your story, @elfmyselfandi :)
