As spring is just around the corner, and summer is very
close, I remembered a month ago, on 14/2/2021 that it
snowed all over Greece, even in the center of Athens.
This had to happen for many years, to such an extent that
the snow immobilized everything in all of Attica but also in
many areas of Greece. The bad weather was named
"Medea" by the ancient Greek mythology. The snowfall
that the meteorologists had warned us about was a real
event. it snowed continuously for a whole 24 hours and
spread it normally. All the areas in Athens, where I have
lived for the last 15 years, had become a vast ski resort.
Schools were closed, roads closed due to snowfall, and all
transportation (metro, train, tram, bus, airports, and
suburban) was out of order.
There were very few vehicles on the roads, with chains,
and they were drivers who had to be moved immediately,
such as those who had to go to work, such as doctors,
nurses and generally people working in hospitals. Also
many who wanted to go for a walk in snowy Attica.
I will focus on the good of the case and less on the bad.
The photos below are just below my house at 100 meters,
where the suburban train lines are. As you can see it is a vast
ski resort.
I went out and walked carefully in the deceptive snow, and the
feeling was unique. The air was fresh and clean and it was
snowing non-stop. Many snowmen existed along the snowy
landscape, with hats and carrots on their noses. The children
played snowball fights and generally young and old enjoyed the
unusual and heavy snowfall.

the boats ...

Only one doctor managed to be on duty at the clinic where I
work as a secretary now ...
Many cars immobilized by the height of the snow and the
blocked roads ...
Anyway, as I said before, I focus on the positives of the case, of
the whitewashed mansion of Athens where at least I personally
enjoyed it and lived it as a very pleasant and beautiful!!
