Leopards on the Lookout by Arthur Wardle.

Another day to survive

Two beasts. One vague prey. Long wait is about to end when wind stops whistling. Felines hear mountains' music finishes and their eyes squint while innocent prey happily eats.

Feline jumps start and the prey is still unaware of its destiny. Leopards drip down the sheer mountains with insatiable hungry. Every jump is longer and longer. The prey, overjoyed in food, smells danger and just runs away without caring what is exactly hunting it. Survival instinct echo through the snowy peaks.

Leopards almost pinch their prey, a Mountain goat, but rude climate manifest itself. Blizzard arrives in a sudden and pursuit becomes even riskier. However, with incredible agility, younger leopard surpasses elder one and careless hits prey. It rolls dramatically and it seems there is no more escape. Young leopard gets excited and it is ready to deal with the final blow, but Mountain goat counterattacks. From the ground, its horns hurt badly not only leopard's body, but its pride also. Such a winning movement, allows Mountain goat to flee, despite elder leopard effort to reach the white banquet. As blizzard gets worse, Mountain goat seems to sightly disappear till the point it turns completely invisible.

Elder leopard surrenders. Young one hopes a miracle to keep alive. It is just another day with no food and wounded ones in the recondite mountain chain of the north.

Hello there! Most of the time I get inspired by paintings like the one from above. Thanks God I can turn that inspiration into a writing and express, by chance, feelings, perceptions or just mockeries on things I do not agree at all. I'd be glad if you read it all!
