Today 10th of September we celebrate Children's Day in Honduras. Tough luck for them, it is a Saturday so they missed out on the school holiday, many of them aren't even in school yet but the ones who are were upset about it. Here in the neighborhood several Mothers chipped in and bought two piñatas with a lot of candies, cake and of course Coca Cola. I tried to rake in some candies but man those kids are like lightning I couldn't get a single one. Luckily they must have felt sorry for me because they did give me some. It could also be I told them they would get no cake on my birthday if they didn't give me some candies.
But it was Ok for the kids, they always enjoy these events and there were no problems as the mothers were watching them so no fights. The event started late because we had some rain but it was all good. I wonder if this day is celebrated on this same date everywhere or just in Honduras?
