The judge who has the ex President's case admitted the USA's demand to extradite Juan Orlando Hernandez to New York to face a trial for Drug Trafficking, money laundering and the improper use of arms. Of course his lawyers are going to appeal. You know the saying, everyone is innocent until proven guilty. The lawyers are aducing that the whole case against the ex President is based on hearsay evidence presented by drug traffickers eager for vengeance as some of them were extradited with the ex President's help.
It seems the US takes whatever the court's witnesses say very seriously and I think, if he is put to trial he will face a very lengthy prison sentence, similar to what his younger brother is serving, life plus thirty years. I think the guy is guilty, of course, I could be wrong but if he is not a drug trafficker he is a crook, his administration was the most corrupt we have ever had, and I can tell you we have had some very corrupt ones, he took the first place. And new evidence keeps showing up, his henchmen are turning up more and more proof of malfeasance, I think he is screwed.
His one chance of not being extradited is if the Supreme Court accepts charges brought up against him here and he is set up for trial in the Honduras justice system. This would seem a reasonable way out for the Supreme Court as they are there because he put them there. The problem for them is the USA, if they do this the Supreme Court might just end up being extradited themselves. No, I fear Juan Orlando Hernandez has no way out, he will face a US judge.
