Boho Kaleidoscope - Art within Art.

I don't know about other creatives, but I have about a gazillion and one unfinished illustrations and designs. I start something being in a certain mood or frame of mind... something happens (life generally, lol), I get interrupted and then when (or if rather) I go back to what I was doing... it just doesn't seem to resonate with me anymore - well, not at that particular moment anyway, lol. Sometimes I re-visit an incomplete piece a few times over a period of months and eventually I end up finishing it, or at least doing something with it.

That was actually the case with this particular design. I started it probably six months ago and at the time I know I had a clear vision of where I wanted it to end up - which is nowhere near where it did, haha!

I was going through my digital files the other night and came across this one which I had abandoned for "whatever" reason. I was not really in the mood to get into any heavy kind of drawing or design, so I decided to just have a little bit of fun and mess about with some of my other pieces - incorporating them into this one.

I still kept the unfinished original, because I would still like to go back at a time when I can fully re-connect with carrying it through to a finished original, but I actually quite enjoy creating pieces which incorporate other works of mine. Art within art I suppose, lol.

Anyhooo, I did a little bit of "something" with it - and this is what came to be! I actually really love it, haha! I suppose there is something to be said for just "fart arsing around" sometimes. Most of the platforms where I sell my art "favour" the artists to be consistent with the addition of new content / designs etc. so I try to draw something every single day, which as you can no doubt imagine, can be a little crazy sometimes.

Obviously there are days when I simply just don't get to it, but I do try my best because this is something which I am incredibly passionate about and I would truly LOVE to see it become successful. I mean... perhaps I am alone in this perspective, but I actually really like my work on textile and "lifestyle products" - more than anywhere else actually.

I think my creative style lends itself to textile particularly well and I really, really, REALLY enjoy doing it... so yes, even if I don't manage to find the time every day to actually draw or design something from scratch... I at least attempt to re-work a piece or combine stuff, ultimately creating something new from it - hence this :)

Sometimes when we have no expectations we surprise ourselves. As dead beat as I felt when I plonked my rear end on the couch the other night after doing all my work related and motherly necessaries, I did not actually think that I was going to end up with anything which I would be happy to publish and promote... but I did... and so BOHO KALEIDOSCOPE was born! Yay to that!

I am a happy chappy! What do you think?! Regardless, it was a nice way to walk into the weekend... and I do believe I have a date night tonight so no cooking for meeee, woohoo! Going to a local steakhouse called "charred" - perhaps I will share that with all of you over the course of what is expected to be a rather rainy and wet weekend! Hope you all have an amazing one too!

Happy Friday Beautiful Souls!

❤❤❤

Until next time...

We invite you to continue publishing quality content. In this way you could have the option of being selected in the weekly Top of our curation team.

Thank you very much @mesola <3

Yep. It sometimes takes years for me to finish stuff.

You are right your work does suit textiles. I'm moving soon and planned on getting new duvet (comforter) covers. Haven't seem much that I liked so maybe I should follow your lead and design my own. I'm thinking something muted colors inspired by geometric 50s designs.

Indeed... and sometimes it never gets finished at all, lol!

Thanks :) I appreciate the feedback! Always!

Oh yes, you should totally do that!!! There are a few sites you could do it through aside from Redbubble, so before you start... perhaps just go and have a look at the fabric, quality, reviews etc. from each site and then decide which one you want to design it on.

I have actually been looking at expanding "where" I put my work, so was reading about some of the top POD sites available... here is the post link, so you can explore the options for yourself too:

Have fun! :)
