Hi friends!
Starting by placing a horizon line, we'll also draw a small stroke at the bottom of the drawing page, roughly in the middle of the page, as shown below.
The next step is to draw the two vanishing lines towards the horizon line, intersecting them somewhere near the centre.
So the vanishing point (VP) is defined for our drawing.
Let the vanishing lines go past the small stroke to the bottom edge of the drawing page.
Using our paper ruler, measure the small trace and apply the same distance across the width of the sheet and trace all the vanishing lines as shown below.
Applying the method explained in the previous lesson, set the depth to draw the first square in perspective.
Trace both horizontal lines, corresponding to the edges of the square, across the drawing paper. So we have obtained the two first rows of squares.
Now, by drawing a diagonal line that intersects the corners of the leftmost square in the direction of the horizon line, as shown below, we obtain an auxiliary vanishing point (AVP).
Then we draw horizontal lines at all the intersection points between the vanishing lines and the diagonal line we have drawn.
To repeat the process we must draw another diagonal line that cuts the corners of the last square on the left side and in the direction of the AVP, as you can see in the drawing below.
Of course, draw all the horizontal lines for this second stage.
Repeat the same process one more time.
The third stage is done.
By drawing a second diagonal line, this time from right to left, starting from the rightmost square of the bottom, towards the horizon line, we can increase the number of vanishing lines to get more squares.
We can erase the helplines to clean up the drawing.
Fill in the squares by interspersing them with black and white (or other colours you want) as shown below.
As the entire width of the page is filled with black and white tiles, as in this drawing, it will seem that they curve as they approach the horizon.
Welcome to the world of Op-Art (Optical Art)!

A similar drawing was used in one of my paintings.

The old masters have also used it.

is his newest lesson.
Very interesting indeed!
Well, our friend @arcoiris is back with his magnificent watercolour lessons.
Check out this last post that contains very interesting and useful advice about watercolours in different qualities and formats from different brands.
Also, thanks to @xpilar for making these initiatives possible with their great support.

Seeing the coloured tile version I felt like in Alice in Wonderland when she met the Queen who wanted to decapitate people. But also you are right it looks like the curve the far they are. So nice, I can't really imagine how many little square but I love the logic of building them up.
Your drawing Time video is awesome! I remember that from your previous posts.
