This is a photo I took after a week long bike trip halfway across Germany. I was very excited to go to the beach and chill in the sand after riding my bike for 500km over five days. Unfortunately, the weather was not in my favour.
It was extremely windy and a storm front was creeping in from the sea. The strong winds carried sand and whenever you look into the direction the wind came from ... Well, it was not the greatest feeling to have all that sand in your eyes.
The German North Sea coast in an amazingly beautiful area and one of the most popular tourist destinations. At low tide a vast marshland appears and stretches for miles. But be careful when exploring, people do get surprised by the incoming high tide. Best to get a guide for a tour - you will learn a lot about this exceptional natural wonder and be safe while doing so.
