Such a waste

Greetings!

Before I tell you this story of stuff of life, let's call it that way, let me admit that I hesitated and couldn't decide for myself if I should share this at all.

Then, I realized there is something useful in it and I could spare some headache to someone of you, probably...

So, here it is...

The other day I woke up just to hear some hissing outside the house. It took me some time to realize where it is coming from. Mainly because I needed some time so coffee kicks in. ;)

When I was up to my usual senses, or kinda, I quickly located the source of the morning disturbance.

It was caused by this faucet, literally split in half. That's a tap I use in the garden but it is auxiliary and I use it only once-twice in the summers, if I need to wash something or the water pump in our well needs some repair/maintenance and I had to water something urgently. I avoid using grid water to water the plants for few reasons - it has chemicals that aren't good for the flora, grid water is potable so it is a waste and not eco-friend to water with it and last but not least, grid water is very expensive.

I was really pissed and almost angry to see how much water is going to waste before I stopped that line. This incident must have happened during the night or the evening as the noise was strong. I checked the water meter and compared to the values from the last month. Extracting our usual monthly consumption it appeared that about 10m3 of potable grid water went to waste that night. Thanks God we were at home and not traveling somewhere. In fact, those 10 cubical meters of water are what we consume on average in two months!!!

Now, to the "technical" part of the story. This faucet is, I would say, a new one, as I bought it about two years ago. It was not exposed under direct sun light, and as I said, during those two years I have used it like 3-4 times. Why would I say it's new? Cause we have other faucets that are almost twenty years old is still behave properly! :)

When I was buying this one from the picture, I intentionally chose the more expensive option, that was the faucet, made in Italy.

Now, looking at it, I couldn't find any proof it was actually made in Italy as that was just a small label put on its small transparent plastic bag. It could be made anywhere. I suspect, a cheap fake made in China. Well, I guess, the new one I will be buying will be locally made, at least I know where to put my frustration if something similar happens again.

Thinking more of it, it must be a fake, or just a cheap product, as there is no logo or any trade mark, just indication it should be good for water pressure values of twice the value of our grid...

I guess I will be double checking my future purchases of such equipment...

I hope you find this all a bit useful, if not, I hope you had some fun and I kept you entertained for some time :))))) Well, cheers to that, what could I say more...

Well, this is a broad topic. And I'm the notorious 'hater' who would speak up properly, lol.😃 It is a fact that over the years the quality of all products decreases. In recent years, I have not come across a product that can last beyond its specified warranty period, which is scandalous, because it is a huge flow of money and a huge flow of garbage, which in Bulgaria does not even have places to collect/deposit. On the other hand, you know very well, I suppose, that low-quality goods are imported into Bulgaria. I recently read something strange about a phone sales site because I'm looking for a phone now: "are the phones on this site durable?"
Well, what does durable mean when this site sells the same phones that are sold everywhere in Bulgaria? Do they mean where they get them from, where they are made, or what? I personally do not understand, but at the same time I have reason to be afraid to buy a phone in Bulgaria - I have no way of knowing how "durable" it will be.
Like anything, actually. I have a fear of buying anything that costs more money because I don't know if that money will end up being given in vain.
Here in this case, one would say - it's just a faucet, it doesn't cost much, but when it bursts, it can bring huge costs.
So there's a problem here, and it's a big one.

True, true. I agree and I think that many salesmen here think they are the most clever and they could trick/cheat everyone else. It is good that now we have some choice and when a store/salesman/brand tries that on me, I switch to other brands. Remember, we didn't have this choice before the Wall fell. The most of the products we were buying were not having any visible brands at all. One product - one brand, who needs more, right...

Thanks so much, @o1eh and Happy International Children's Day! :)

Фактически, эти 10 кубометров воды - это то, что мы потребляем в среднем за два месяца!!!

У меня нет слов ...
Это была подделка.

I am afraid that was it...
Next time, as we like to say here "ще си отварям очите на четири".
