The Angle - Imprinted by LightCaptured

It is absolutely interesting, stunning and sometime entertaining how perception changes everything for us.

I don't mean the photographic or the visual perspective.

I am going to explain shortly below why I am sharing those travel photos of mine that I took in Alba Iulia, one amazingly beautiful old city in west-central parts of Romania.

Few days ago, I went to change the tyres of my car. Here, in Bulgaria, the summers are very hot. For instance, now, at the beginning of June, in the last two days the max temperatures are in the range of 35 degree Celsius. In August, there are range of days when they are above 40 C for many hours of the day. The winter, at the same time, are sometime very cold, with temperatures dropping to -10, -15, sometimes -20 C.

Long story short, one must have proper tyres to avoid problems and traffic accidents.

This tyre changing "procedure" takes at least one hour, considering you have a scheduled appointment, otherwise it could even take the half of the day! This day, I haven't made the appointment call so I had to circle between the nearby tyre services I respect so I finally landed at a small shop, where the owner is the mechanic itself.

This kind of places are where the life stories are exchanged. And experiences compared!

His shop was located right next to the city ring road and I noticed there are many Romanian cars, mainly heading South, I'm pretty sure heading to Greece.

My first rendezvous with Romanians was long ago and if I have to sum it all my rendezvous up, it would be a rather positive outcome.

His conclusion was completely different from mine and was almost totally negative. He had several customers, stopping there needing emergency tyre services. Despite of the fact the shop service prices are set and printed on the wall, he said that each one of them clients, has tried to bargain even haggle on the price of fixing, mounting and sometimes on the price of a new tyre.

I guess his general perception of the Romanians has been built based on those rendezvous. Moreover, we could reach consensus, as I was trying to imply that probably it is in their culture and traditions to bargain for such type of services while in my country we just pay what we're asked for. Here, though, I have to admit, it depends on the industry and on the persons involved in the "transaction"...

So, here comes "the angle"...

Now, let's cut to the chase and enjoy those travel photos from Alba Iulia :)

I have two cases of contacts with people of this nationality under different circumstances. One was quite negative. The second - surprisingly positive, downright endearing, saving. So I'm 50/50 lol. That's all I can say about them. Of course, it depends on the different perspective, the angle, the focus through which you see them. As well as the circumstances under which fate decides to meet you with a certain person or people.
In terms of bargaining, I'm not sure what kind of people we are, because I happened to be in a store of a large international furniture company some time ago and they offered me a "deal". They reduced the price of one chair for me by a lot of money. And I was so surprised that I was scared and didn't buy it because I thought there was something wrong. 😂 Also, don't forget the offers of the telecommunication companies. Bargaining there sometimes involves scandals and threats, but it works 🤣
A very nice angle, by the way, through which you have seen and presented to us this wonderful city!

Phew... Right. I don't know what to say...

Thank you :)

Much appreciated, team, have a lovely day ahead!

Говорят, что румыны похожи на цыган. Я не встречался с первыми, но немного знаю вторых ))
ТОрговаться, что может быть для них более естественно, это их образ жизни :)

It's a big country, well, at least much bigger than mine, with several groups and minorities. I suppose you're right about the trading culture and traditions. Our region was under the Ottoman empire for centuries so some words and traditions will always remain, I guess...

Да, я понимаю, население любой страны неоднородно. В конечном итоге вырабатывается какая-то общая культура с различными особенностями. И это замечательно, что мы все разные. В этом богатство человечества как вида :D

True! I was really impressed because we also have the same minority, with the same name but theirs were dressed in amazing way, males with black trousers and white shirts wearing big black hats and females with long red dresses. I saw a woman doing gardening and still, she was in that long red dress. Really impressive. This cannot be seen in Bulgaria.

Хорошо, когда люди хранят свои традиции. В одежде, музыке, быту.
Это всегда привлекает и вдохновляет взять в руки камеру (как минимум)))
