Francia | A Sweet Afternoon

Hello my people, welcome to a new drawing for my blog, today's is about a work that I decided to title (The sweet afternoon of France) and I finished it a couple of days ago; in it what I was looking for was to achieve a good painting that would allow a good harmony between the violet and pink tones that would be the predominant colors in this illustration:

PROCESS

Starting with my work I spent a long time to build my sketch which would guide me in the process of painting my drawing, build the sketch of the character of France which would be a pretty girl about 24 years old; with long straight hair which she herself can caress with her hands. After the sketch I continued with the painting, in this case for the skin I used a sand tone, for the clothes I used a very bluish violet and for the hair a blue and medium gray to contrast a little to the character.

I created the details of the skin with a soft tip brush and then in a new layer I used a flatter tip brush to establish better the occlusion shadows, deeper shadows and above all the illumination glows of the skin; after having a more realistic skin I continued with the creation of details of the face that would give France that expression of tranquility that I was looking for. For the eyes I took as a base that medium gray color and built the inner iris with a very bright light eye look, I used some lighter tones and fine brushes to detail everything very well.

Next in my process was the painting of the French clothes, for this I took my time with the intention of building a very elegant dress, here I had to use a lot of brushes to get a texture as close as possible to a silk texture; some light strokes with a soft tipped brush helped me to build some folds in the dress to make it look with a better shape. Then in a new layer I continued with the hair, for this I used airbrush for a first relief, then with an open bristle tip brush I created the hair strands very carefully for more realism.

To finish shaping my work I dedicated myself to create a sunset scene as if it was about to get dark, for this I started with the use of pink colors which would be the second predominant tone of my drawing; I used a little purple with a tendency to pink tones and then I applied the pink color with the airbrush and at low opacity in different sections. Finally, I created some clouds in the back in a variation of pinks and purples and then I added a little flash of sun in front of France's face.
