Hi everyone, today I am sharing with you a progress picture of my most recent painting.
As you may have guessed it is based on the Moirai or the Fates. These three sisters, Clotho, Lachesis and Atropos, are goddesses of destiny. At birth, each person is assigned a destiny (a thread). Each one of them had her own task, Clotho spun the thread (birth), Lachesis decided of the length and Atropos cut the thread (death). This is a metaphor for the cycle of life.

I find these characters very intriguing. In greek mythology they seemed to be feared by both mortals and gods, as no one could interfere with destiny.
They are usually depicted as old and ugly women, but for artistic purpose I chose to represent them younger. However, I did hide the face of two of them to keep some mystery.

I will be posting the final result in the next few days.
I hope you like it :)
