This morning I woke up eager to draw for a while, so I took my tablet and sat down at my desk to just draw whatever came to my mind, which surprised me a bit, since I had no expectations of anything and I ended up with a drawing that I love so much. I take the opportunity to share this as my entry for the digital art contest in World of Xpilar.
Hola gente bonita! Espero estén super bien todos y si no lo están, pronto lo estarán! Esta mañana desperté con ansias de dibujar un rato, así que tome mi tableta y me senté en el escritorio a solamente dibujar lo que se me viniese a la mente, lo cual me sorprendió un poco, ya que no tenia expectativas de nada y termine con un dibujo que me ha encanta demasiado. Aprovecho de compartirlo como mi entrada para el concurso de arte digital en World of Xpilar.
In my mind I heard a phrase that I have heard a lot of times, which says: "Double-faced people are best kept away from you, because one day they show you loyalty and the next day they are talking trash about you to someone else behind your back". So I took this phrase to make a drawing representing this in a black and white portrait.
Por mi mente paso la frase que he escuchado un montón de veces, la cual dice: "A las personas doble cara es mejor tenerlas lejos de ti, porque un día te demuestran fidelidad y al día siguiente andan hablando pestes de ti con alguien más a tus espaldas". Así que tome esta frase para hacer un dibujo representado esto en un retrato a blanco y negro.
I started making the sketch, taking into account two references for it. Which were a face and a skull that I looked for in Pinterest, I integrated these two things and the initial sketch came out. Evidently the face represents the "friendly" person that we get to have, and on the opposite side, that is to say, from behind, his true self. A kind and sweet side from the front, but that hides behind itself, a being as dark as the night itself. Well, I exaggerated a bit, but you get the message.
Comencé haciendo el boceto, tomando en cuenta dos referencias para ello. Las cuales fueron un rostro y un cráneo que busque en Pinterest, integre estas dos cosas y salio a flote el boceto inicial. Evidentemente el rostro representa la persona "amiga" que llegamos a tener, y por su lado contrario, es decir; por detrás, su verdadero ser. Un lado amable y dulce de frente, pero que esconde detrás de si mismo, un ser tan oscuro como la noche misma. Bueno, exagere un poco, pero ustedes captan el mensaje.

Once I had the sketch ready, what I did next was to start making the line art. A line art in gray and another in black is what I have been doing in my drawings, which I love and in this drawing that contrast is much more noticeable, since this drawing I left it only in grayscales.
Una vez que tuve el boceto listo, lo que hice después fue comenzar a hacer el line art. Un line art en gris y otro en negro es lo que he venido haciendo en mis dibujos, lo cual me encanta y en este dibujo se nota mucha más ese contraste, ya que este dibujo lo deje solamente en escalas de grises.

After I did the line art work, I went on to detail the drawing, adding with a watercolor brush, black paint for the shadows. The shadows were added in areas where I thought they were feasible or necessary and I was detailing them little by little. And really that was all, a simple and easy drawing, but with a message in between, which some may identify with it or just admire the drawing.
Luego que hice el trabajo de line art, paso a detallar el dibujo, agregando con un pincel de acuarelas, pintura negra para las sombras. Las sombras las agregue en zonas donde yo creí conveniente que eran factibles o necesarias y las fui detallando poco a poco. Y realmente eso fue todo, un dibujo simple y sencillo, pero con un mensaje de por medio, el cual algunos puedan identificarse con el o solamente admiren el dibujo.
