Welcome to Lyme Regis in west Dorset, England. This stunning seaside town was the birth place of Sir George Somers who discovered Bermuda - the first British Crown Colony. He was a privateer (officially a legal pirate) who was given a letter by the British government which allowed him to attack ships belonging to countries Britain was at war with (which at this time was normally Spain).
Lyme Regis is a part of the Jurassic coast with pretty beaches surrounded by exotic subtropical plans and palm trees. Plenty of activities are available for people of all ages here starting with a fun kids colourful bouncy paradise right onto the sand, mini golf for the entire family and paddle boarding for the more adventurous.
A lovely way to end another day in paradise here is certainly admiring the sunset whilst sipping your favourite drink and having few oysters. Watch out as the local seabirds would love to get a treat too.
Beautiful. Quite subtropical. English Riviera?

It is indeed @datych situated on the Jurassic coast which is ancient and now popular for fossil hunting! The resorts here are extremely well organised, clean and there is plenty of art displayed all over.

I’m glad that you love this charming town @dianadee! I always prefer authentic places like this compared to the bigger busier resorts like Bournemouth for instance. Hope you visit Dorset one day and if you end up in Lyme Regis, make sure to call at “The Oyster & Fish House” where you can enjoy locally sourced seafood with a view of the harbour known as “The Cobb” where an iconic scene of “The French Lieutenant's Woman” was filmed.
