That certainly is a sea view to die for! I took the photo of these parasols lined along the fine yellow sandy beach with the crystal clear sea behind in Nessebar, Bulgaria from a room on a high floor in a seafront 4 star All Inclusive hotel.

This Eastern European country gets an average of 10 hours of sunshine daily in peak season - July and August each year. This southern part of the Bulgarian Black Sea coast has the most popular Sunny Beach resort (some of you might have already visited with the family or friends!) which was again crowned by The Post Office the Best Value holiday destination. Package holidays here from the UK including flight, transfer and accommodation start from as little as £199 per person for a week.
It is though another summer like no other for the travel and hospitality industries as due to the global pandemic many are still unable to travel abroad. Therefore more and more hotels are being forced to remain closed for the season due to low demand. The local market is however expected to rise but the All Inclusive is no longer the first choice as many now prefer self catering accommodation.
Traditional Bulgarian vegetarian cold sharing platter featuring traditional salads including Shopska (tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, peppers, onion, white cheese), Snow White (fresh cucumbers in yogurt), roasted red peppers with walnuts and parsley, lettuce with radishes and boiled eggs, appetisers like Kyopolou (roasted aubergine and pepper dip), Ljutenica (tomato and red pepper spread) and black olives in the middle.

You should send this photo to some food photo contest ...
My favourite place in Bulgaria is Veliko Tarnovo. An awesome city! I want to come back once.

When I wrote this post I was hoping that somebody who has already been to Bulgaria would comment on it - so there you are @datych!
That's a great choice of salad - shopska is the favourite of many, especially now in spring, summer season. Point taken - I will make sure I enter a food competition with the photo featured here.
I like the architecture and authenticity of Veliko Tarnovo too and it sort of resembles the thumbnail photo of your Mountains of Georgia post.

:) Veliko Tarnovo doesn't have sea and this is why it is not as famous as, let's say, Dubrovnik. And this is what I need - a perfect place without crowds. Still, the place is a popular destination full of beautiful cafes hanging over the river, with Medieval constructions as well as narrow romantic streets of later times... Great people, relaxed, welcoming, and trustworthy. Would be good to have 10 days there, just renting a small room and taking images day by day...

When you @datych commented mentioning Dubrovnik, I was actually writing a post about Croatia, featuring Split though - what a coincidence :)
Spending lets say 10 days in Veliko Tarnovo will give you plenty of photography opportunities and more time to take it all in. There is a Sound and Light Show too (maybe you've heard about it?) which is a photography challenge but photos of it would be worth every effort.
As you love off the beaten path places, the villages of Leshten and Kovachevitsa and the town of Melnik must go on list too. They are all situated in the western part of Bulgaria though and back in the days craftsmen originally from Veliko Tarnovo were moving to this mountainous area and building stunning houses to reveal their skills.

I had shopska salad in Varna few years ago and it was very delicious, too. My was mixed, though ... not split into slizes.

I’m glad you @zorank liked the shopska salad! What I photoed is a cold sharing platter which includes the shopska salad - it is between the two red triangles, covered in grated white cheese. So, yes, the shopska is mixed like the one you had in Varna which is a beautiful city. The resorts nearby like Golden Sands, Balchik or St Constantine and Helena I like even better. Maybe you made it to one of them too when you were in Bulgaria?

I'm afraid I was in Bulgaria only one day. It was on business actually, so I had very little time. Hope to visit the country some day soon!

Hope you @zorank really get the chance to visit Bulgaria again some time in the near future. There’s also decent skiing/snowboarding in winter if you’re into any of that!
