A leafless now in early February oak caught my eye with its pure white cover over its exposed roots. Hundreds of snowdrops found a cosy home here sheltered comfortably. It is now illegal collecting snowdrop bulbs in the wild here in England. A few varieties are available this time of the year at the garden centres. Georgia is the world’s number one grower and exporter of snowdrops with whole highland communities relying on the income from selling snowdrops to support their families. Maybe one day I will visit Georgia during the snowdrop season.
