Stoutzilla is a dark, quite alcoholic, 10% ABV beer brewed independently in coastal sometimes sunny Brighton 🌊

I got a can of it just before Christmas whilst sampling local beers in Rochester. I dared to enjoy it last night.

Amongst its ingredients is even bourbon whiskey πŸ₯ƒ

if the beer contains bourbon, it is no longer a beer, but some cocktail.
In Russia, mixed beer with vodka is called a ruff. In Soviet times, it was a ubiquitous drink. To get drunk faster for relatively little money. Usually in Russian films, such a drink is boasted to foreigners that Russians drink a lot and do not get drunk, but the British and especially the French do not know how to drink.

I hate stereotypes to be honest. No one can actually be good at drinking, it’s not a sport or a skill just the more often some do it the more used to it they become. What I love about the UK is the social element to it, the pub as an institution with its pub culture resembling the lifestyle here. Sometimes even the whole family is in there including the dogs 🐢

You've already told me about pub culture. When I talk about this in a conversation with colleagues, acquaintances, and friends, not everyone even understands what I'm talking about.
In my village with a population of about 3 thousand people, a cafe has only recently opened, and that it only works on weekends and holidays. People are used to drinking in companies at home or in the countryside.
But we must admit that the situation is changing in cities and there are more and more such "pubs".

The English pub isn't the same as the pubs we have in the Netherlands especially not the "bruin cafΓ©s" (dark pubs) it's alcohol nothing else, noplace for children and with the noise no dog likes to stay inside.

😱 Am I brave enough to pop in one day πŸ€” Nothing like my last Amsterdam adventure then - admiring the tulips at Keukenhof 🌷

There's a huge difference between the beers' alcohol percentage if it comes to the countries you mentioned same for the drinking culture.

Interesting info

Once I was given 2 cans of Baltika 9 beer. Young people used to love this beer very much because it was one of the strongest in Russia. The beer tasted like vodka.

How come it is still called beer? When is it beer, when wodka or like we call it "brandewijn" (burning wine) jenever (which was given with sugar to babies to keep them quiet and sleep through the night by some πŸ˜‰).
