There She Is (PowerUp 100%)

Early one crisp March morning we boarded the ferry to the Statue of Liberty. If you have at least a week in New York, it is most cost effective to buy a New York Explorer Pass which gives you access to several attractions including this ever popular monument. Try not to forget to pick up your belt from the security scanner and head to the top deck which boasts stunning views, making you feel like you are on board the Titanic anticipating the New (at least to some) World.

Best to beat the crowds by starting this day trip in the morning, so do not miss breakfast or at least brunch. And don't have it in the McDonald's. Pop in one of the authentic eateries by the Grand Central Terminal for a speciality. Just don't forget portions here in the USA are gigantic. But you are not a diet.

I admire the thousands of people who left everything behind in search of a better future escaping this and that in their home countries. Talented craftsmen, writers, artists, whole families with just a wooden chest between them holding nothing but another set of clothes, a few photographs and maybe a Bible. Compared to them, we have so many more possessions nowadays which tends to preoccupy us and distract us from the essence of life. But things changed. A lot.

Is the New World still appealing to many? Seems like it. I personally have walked past the US embassy here in London quite a few times early in the morning and the whole outdoor area in front of the building has always been packed with people queuing in line to be seen and apply for a US Visa. Maybe not exactly right now with the ongoing pandemic.

Keep exploring the world and its opportunities.

I can just imagine the Statue coming into view as I approach New York and I think my first visit would be to get myself a steak breakfast!

That sounds like a plan @hazyjames Don't forget to tip!

Great post)
