Three new designs with a small how to

Ha! Inspiration hit!

I made three new designs this week. It sounds more impressive than it is. I made one and then made two extra versions of it, because I wasn't sure which one I liked best.

So I was watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer, as you do, and there was this awesome cardigan. Now I can't design entire cardigans, I just design the print and Redbubble decides what I can put that on, so no awesome cardigan. But I liked the pattern aswell, as far as I could see it and it gave me an idea for this design. It turned out different than the cardigan, but it's my own!

This is one of those times where inspiration hit and I just got to creating right away and some time later, my shop had three new designs in it. That doesn't happen to me often anymore, but it's a good feeling.

It's not a very intricate design, nor was it very hard to make, but I do like it, especially because of the bokeh effect. I'm not sure which of these I like best though, so I wonder which of these YOU like best. Here they are:

Playfulfoodie leaves design

A bright version (Iphone / Samsung), vivid version (Iphone / Samsung) and a dark version (Iphone / Samsung)

The bright version didn't work on some of Redbubble's products, but it has a softness to it which I like. The dark one works on most products, but has a completely different feel to it. I might like the vivid one better than the bright one, just because it shows more contrast, but then I've always been a sucker for good contrast.

I created the design in Photoshop CS3. The background is basically a few gradient layers combined with blending layers. Once I had that, I then used a leaves brush to fill in two different layers and I combined them with blending layers aswell. The seperate versions are made by combining all of the layers, duplicating them and again, playing with blending layers (says the blending layers addict).

So yeah, not hard, but I like the outcome nonetheless. It's nice getting some inpiration now and then after such a long time of nothing at all.
